The Secret is--------> Start a religion or self help movement, CHA CHING $$$$. Charge everyone you can for the book, movie and private seminars to train them on how to train other people to "enlighten themselves". Im all for anything that makes people better, but Untill pople run a program like the secret....AT COST, NON PROFIT.......I will remain unimpressed.

I never watched the movie, but I did read the book. While I do believe in the Law of Attraction, I think this book took away responsibility from the individual. They put too much emphasis on the whole "think it, believe it, and it will happen" idea. Sure, you have to believe in whatever it is you are doing, but the part they forgot to mention is that you have to get off your ass and MAKE IT HAPPEN! Don't just sit around thinking about it and then wonder why things aren't moving in the direction you had hoped.

I've read a couple of other books based on the same philosophy, but these others also stress that you need to make things happen, not wait for them to happen to you. Believing in your own ability to succeed and envisioning the way you want things to turn out just enables you to get out there and play ball instead of sitting on the sidelines as a spectator.

If there's just ONE sole thing You need to be hellbent about... it's that this shit works! "Naive" positivity, in combination with planning & adjusting as You go.. works!

If You take a look at ANY successful entrepreneur... he/she shares that same trait with every other successful entrepreneur, except for the VERY few of them that just had pure luck.

The audio book is much better. Although the video has more impact at first. I recommend the classic Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Same basic stuff but way better. It's considered to many the bible of self-help books.

The basic principles involved are faith and action. Faith means you believe in what you are trying to achieve. Faith is a fundamental principle that too many people associate only with religion. It's is extremely powerful and in-depth topic. Faith is one of the mechanisms that engages the subconscious mind. If you think you can't do something your subconscious will develop thoughts and habits to support that. If you believe you can and envision it as being so the subconscious mind will support you in that endeavor as well.

Simply believing is not enough. If you don't take action your belief is for naught. You can believe all you want that braking in your car while heading towards a wall will save you but unless you actually do brake you're in for a rough surprise.

Also, when you feed your subconscious mind thoughts it will accept anything you feed it, be that positive or negative. Repetition and emotion are the 2 ways to control how effective thoughts are entered into the subconscious mind. The more often and the more powerful / vivid / emotion is associated with the thought the stronger the subconscious mind will accept it.

I think there is a book called The Power of the Subconscious Mind. I haven't read it yet but I imagine it will have a lot of good things to say as well.

"The Secret" is good, but it's the simplified version for the masses. Nothing makes that more apparent than the hollywood style intro that serves little educational value. Study the 2 books I mentioned there and look around for related books.

Power vs Force is another one I strongly recommend.

It's amazing the number of people that refuse to acknowledge the spiritual domain. Our society has a tendency to make people feel like they are being gay or faggotty if they acknowledge the spiritual domain.

It's the most powerful and fundamental domain of the universe, preceding even the physical domain, which is a manifestation of the spiritual world. If you're not going to listen to what hundreds of different spiritual teachers have taught then at least listen to what quantum physics teach. They teach the same thing.

It's like people denying gravity exists because they can't see it. Well, you can deny it all you want but you are still subject to it. So you might as well pay attention to it.

Denying the spiritual component to me is like someone walking off a cliff and saying gravity doesn't exist. Ok, think what you want and watch what happens. Unfortunately, many people in life still fall flat on their face, metaphorically speaking, and don't even realize there's a reason for it. So they get right back up and do it all over again. Can you imagine someone saying, dude, there's this thing called gravity and that's the reason you keep hurting yourself, and then the person responding, what are you talking about, don't talk to me about all that wishy-washy religion crap.

Open your eyes. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. There is a better way. Don't live in ignorance.

I've seen the movie and I read into the whole quantum physics & law of attraction - there's definitely substance to it. I can also relate to experiences from my own life.

My is that our mind (brain) is the most complex "thing" ever and it's the main driving factor behind many of these ideas (figure, we still don't know how the brain works 100% - we can only assume & guess). One just needs to learn how to use it properly - in whichever way possible/necessary.

I think the idea is great. And it does not assume that you will do nothing and everyting will come. The idea is that when you imagine your goal in all details in a positive way, you can just let it go. You do not need to force events and root up a ground. Your mind will tell you when there will be the chance to move in right direction, when to start to act.

This idea is described in much more details in NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming). There are special techniques how to set your goals properly and also very much other useful practical techniques.
