#1 - Don't send a major affiliate a check and see what happens when he posts on GFY about it.
#2 - Send the check knowing it will bounce and see what happens when he posts on GFY about it.

Final Result: The same shit happens. Nothing really.

In ten years I have had two bounced checks sent to me. One was handled quickly and was a mistake. The other was where the company simply vanished (a very old AVS which is no longer around).

If someone were to be honest about the situation and admit to just not having the funds, I'd get quiet about it and allow them up to a month to remedy it. But the second someone seems to be hiding or lying to me about my payments and I am sure this is happening, I'll be right here naming names and posting conversations. I don't give a shit. :2 cents:

Yep, that's a classic, it's fun to get a "void after 90 days" check dated back one year :1orglaugh

I hate to do this but we just had a check returned from you guys. :upsidedow

I'm pretty sure it was an innocent error.

pocketkangaroo/VG.Content good to see someone has got the ball rolling and is actually helping the industry shape up.

Guess your both going to get contacted now and offered a deal to say that even though you both are independent of each other you both made a joke at the same time.

For all you other guys get balls list the names Im only pushing this for the benefit of everyone ,we all need to start to work together and every step forward will help

Christina Muller 02-27-2008 10:39 PM

QuaShe,We have big programs who send bouncing checks too

Why wouldnt you name them? would you rather see others suffer the same situation, this is why will76 is on a mission everyone blames tubes and are quick to kick shap and everyone else for other things but on the subject of fraud no one will name corps who have committed fraud (as even if its a mistake..most times not) its still fraud period.

I understand why he wants to start some sort of assocation for webmasters.

IMO (since I was named in the post) if a sponsor bounces a check, contacts you ASAP, wires you the money on their dime, and they pay any fees you received from your bank, then I don't think it is a big deal. If this happened multiple times by the same company then it should be something that others are made aware of. I think that would be a sure sign that the company is working off of fumes or either is as responsible with their banking as that of a 18 year old.

I wouldn't call it fraud, unless it could be proven that they intentially did it.

I wasn't trying to get any ball rolling. I'm 99% sure it was a clerical error on their part. We haven't promoted PB much before and I don't even think the check was for $100.

The only reason I mentioned it is because bounced checks are not a "small program" issue. They happen everywhere. The companies you need to watch out for are the ones that don't send checks at all. The times I've seen bounced checks, it's always been human error on the part of the program and fixed right away.

I wasn't trying to knock or call out anyone. I've just recently started setting up links to AdultRental.com, and they were real helpful in getting me some stuff I needed. I mentioned I thought it was funny.

I agree. If a company is going to fuck you over, they aren't going to send bad checks. They just won't send you a check at all.

Christina Muller 02-27-2008 10:54 PM

Thanks Will76 but here is the quote:

QuaShe,We have big programs who send bouncing checks too

I assume from this that a lot of mistakes(if you want to call them that) are taking place.

Maybe the industry needs a good bank or accounts system made then to avoid this? :thumbsup.

Christina Muller 02-27-2008 11:03 PM

Sure no problem it was probably a clerical error or maybe a banking error or lets just say a error :winkwink:

No it doesnt work like that,in most cases they send you a check then explain it was a error etc and issue you a new one this =they didnt have the money at the time of writing the check and needed time and now they are ok they can pay you, its not rocket science :winkwink:

We receive checks from probably 75-100 programs in mainstream and adult. Anything over $5000 we have wired. I rarely ever get a bounced check, and never had one company not pay it in full shortly after.

Now I've had about 5-10 companies stop sending checks. Either they go out of business or just never answer emails again. I'm much more concerned about a company that doesn't send checks at all than one that sends bad ones.

Christina Muller 02-27-2008 11:16 PM

Will76 quote: If this happened multiple times by the same company then it should be something that others are made aware of

thats actually my point if everyone names names and the sponsor states hey its a mistake then no problem, but how do affliates find out who the repeat offenders are without sharing info on boards such as gfy ? If everyone posted I have a bounced check Im sure it would give confidence to others who have had multiple problems to post thier experiences.

Sometimes you have to lead for others to follow.

High Class Grass 02-27-2008 11:21 PM

Platinum Dave was/is a very shady man. Back in the day (2001 something} I sent 4394 clicks from google adword to his program but NO SALE . I DROPPED it right away and blacklisted him/the program.
He also had other shady things I don't want to mention here because I don't have time for this shit .

Christina Muller 02-27-2008 11:23 PM

no problem pocketkangaroo :thumbsup

this is not my thread its boneprones and Im not on a mission to embarass you or anyone else,it was just with a title like SPONSORS: Stop Bouncing Checks to me. FUCK!!! and no one naming names or making any impact I voiced my thoughts, and I will end it at that and hope we all had a great discussion :)

PSSuperstars 02-28-2008 03:04 AM

I don't understand the concept of bounced checks.
#1 SMALL ASS COMPANIES need to not offer these BIG payouts to attract people. SLOWLY build yourself. You're not going to make money over night... Offer percentages that will allow yourself to make money to REINVEST.. so one day you can BE a big player and offer the ginormo bonuses and shit.

#2 Don't spend like you're a baller unless you really are. Most businesses have a profit margin of 10-15%.... So that's ALL YOU SHOULD BE SPENDING ON PERSONAL SHIT... Don't go buy the BMW or Vette... Don't go invest in a coke filled week in vegas... BE RESPONSIBLE.. You have people's livelyhood in your hands.

Bouncing checks means nothing more than a greedy ass owner who wanted too much money too quick.. or had some lame brain scheme planned out to promise to pay more than his shit program can handle.

It's bad business planning either way.

How do you find out if there are repeat offenders ? When they bounce more than one check to you over a short period of time, you have a repeat offender. Make a post about it then and call them out if you want.

You're absolutely right, the next check that bounce I'll start a fucking drama. 35$ every fucking time some dipshit "forgot" to refill their checking account.:2 cents:

angeleyes 02-28-2008 11:30 PM

No checks bounced here either, and we write some big ones, up around 20k for just one person per period...... take a look, link in sig.

If you arent intersted I understand your frustration and good luck!
