I'm still waiting to see if Montreal lands Hossa from Atlanta.

If that's the case, Hossa will actually play AGAINST the Thrashers tonight.

Hossa to Pens!

some interesting deals happening I am excited to see Federov play with Ovechkin and it looks like colorado is looking to take a run at detroit by loading up on defense

WOW the pens gave up ALOT for Hossa - what were they smoking?

Martin 02-26-2008 01:04 PM

haha The Leafs move one of their toughest, most popular players for a 5th round pick lol.. What a friggin joke.

Mutt 02-26-2008 01:24 PM

Leaf fans need to be euthanized mercifully. The only reasonable approach for them is to strip the team down to absolutely finish dead last next year and draft Tavares - their luck they'll finish last and still not get to draft first.

Buffalo is the team I feel sorry for - Leafs should hire Darcy Regier and Lindy Ruff - Buffalo's lost Drury, Briere and now Campbell for almost nothing and they're still competitive - that can't go on forever, they have few prospects left and the scouting staff that put that team together has been dismantled. They are going nowhere.

You know, I like him a fair amount as a 3-4 Dman. He just gets paid like a top-end #2.

We knew Campbell was going. It was important that we got something for him instead of letting him go when the season was over for nothing. He nothing but a glorified Forward anyway. I wouldn't even consider him a solid D man.

Its been a tough 3 years but the team remains a contender.

Not a lot of surprises today really. Pittsburgh gave up way too much for Hossa though.

Varius 02-26-2008 03:12 PM

If Penguins re-sign Hossa, then they made a solid trade. If he signs elsewhere though and they don't win the Cup it was an expensive price to pay (as it usually is with rentals). I have a feeling they know they will re-sign him.

Anaheim again only made a few depth moves, nothing really interesting. Their big acquisitions were already done though in getting Nieds and Teemu back :)

I can't see him resigning with the pens, they got malkin to sign
