How many times have you done jury duty?

I have never done it. I was called twice but for Massachusetts (where I went to college for 1 year) but I was already in the UK by then and they weren't willing to pay the travel expenses. I was never called up in Pennsylvania and I haven't been called up once since becoming a British citizen. I think it might actually be interesting if only to have said I did it.

How many times have you done it and without saying anything you aren't suppose to was it an interesting case?

Most of my family have though. I guess my turn will come soon enough. It wouldn't bother me though...

I was called but not picked. Next day the paper said that the jury for the trial in the death of Billy Martin had been selected..in the same court. Glad I didnt get picked for a relatively high profile trial like that.

Was called once. First thing I said during selection is how I think the police always do a great job and that they are always right. I was let go within an hour.

Once and it was boring a insurance case. Sat in a room for 3 days while they were negotiating. Then was called again sat around for a day i wasnt picked for a case and was sent home. I also had to fill out a form for the grand jury,sent it in and never heard back.

I was called for it once, the day came and I completely forgot about it.

Did it once, but wasn't picked thank god. It would have been for a several week long trial I found out later on. I don't mind doing it, but if I would have been picked it would have put me out of the business I was in then.

I would have no issues at all doing it now because I can drop what I'm doing for a few weeks with no problems. People in this industry especially that make up BS excuses to get out of jury duty are pretty damn stupid IMHO.

We of all people should support a jury system, considering we can easily be discriminated by the govt and charged with BS charges. Trial by jury is the only thing that gives people in our industry a chance against the govt.

You aren't going to be sending anybody to the chair here so it could be fairly interesting ..or it could be seriously rubbish after the first ten minutes. I live right around the corner from Belmarsh..my luck I would be on a terror trial and be held up for months.

I was summoned, but they bounced me. Good thing too, it was for a high profile child abuse case. I would of had to take at least 3 or 4 months off work to do it. I'm cool with serving on a jury, but not for that long.

i've been called twice - once in my hometown after i moved and once here in philadelphia. both were a little over a year apart. i'm from a really small coal mining town so they rarely have trials but here in philly it was a brutally long day.

I got called once, and it was strange because there was only one smoking area in the court house. I ended up sitting next to the plaintiff and his girlfriend while we all smoked and I overheard their conversation. Of course, I won't say why, but it became obvious to me that he was guilty. I was very relieved when they didn't choose me. Plus, the assistant D.A. was fucking hot as hell! She was young, tall, and blond, it's probably a great advantage for her because she had us all googly eyed.

When I lived in Arizona I got called up for jury duty 3 days before I was set to move to Vegas. SO i just skipped it.

Called 4 times and sat a jury once. County Sheriff on trial for sliding around the line item budget, and charging citizens for copies of reports. Took a full week, not guilty - even though he was, but who the heck is gona put a good man in jail, cause he fucked up some paperwork? Ex employees with bad attitudes, tipped the scale for me.

I sat once on a jury for an assault case... over within 2 days, really wasn't all that bad. Got to catch up on some extra reading during jury selection, and on the actual trial day, went through about 2-3 hours of lawyer statements before we we're let go on a lunch break. When we came back from the break the defendant changed his plea to no contest... and we were done.

I had to go to the courthouse twice, the first one was a 2 hour drive from home and from selection to end was only 2 days. It was a senseless case, there was a prison inmate that was out of line while being transferred to his cell, he pulled his cuffs and straps into the cell before they could unhook him, so they were forced to go in and get him. Well, he claims his arm was broken, but yet they had the nurse on the stand with the log which had no evidence of him seeing or wanting to get medical attention. He also represented himself in the case without an attourney, so he had no chance. It was funny though because he had another inmate that had been transferred to another prison, on tv and he didn't even really remember and told a different story, ha ha ha.

The second case was a local case where a woman was being accused of letting her dogs run around off the leash on her farm and someone was complaining about how they go on their land. Luckily, I never got picked for that one, ha ha.
