Just started Knight Rider on the TiVo

And, lemme say... with all the reviews here last week, I'm wondering why I'm bothering with it at all.

Yeah... that was the biggest problem I had with it... was a bit much.

Juicy was right about the "Are you Homosexual?" line... it made the flick!

I can't believe the resurrected hasslehof for that scene at the end. That bit is the only real reference to the real knight rider.

Kit was always a little sarcastic and I was disappointed to hear they have this stupid shitty voice.

Plus the bad guys in the new ford whatever chasing them around the hills was just dumb and unbelievable

I kept waiting for KITT to Turbo Boost...

                what the hell?

I mean, everyone knows he gets one "turbo-boost" an episode.

One thing cool about the new Knight Rider is that even though its obviously light-weight sci-fi, some of the things the car can do have some basis in reality. Today, Voice Synthesizers let computers talk. GPS Navigation tells you where you're going, and camera / lasers + GPS can help cars drive themselves (Darpa Automotive XPrize of 2006). Nano-based self-repairing materies ae very sci-fi, but again have some basis in fact (Google Nano tubes).

What was always stupid though was the "Tubo Boost". If you're going to at least bend the laws of physics at least follow it up with remotely plausible explanation. They can't, so its gone, and thats good.

They showed pieces of the original KITT and the old license plate in the garage towards the beginning of the show.

I'm sorta ashamed I remember that bit of info.

Val Kilmer is the new voice for KITT . KITT was the acronym for Knight Industries Two Thousand in the old show. In the new one, he is the Knight Industries Three Thousand. The ratings for the show were actually pretty high.
