I didn't like Al Gore either so I am ambivalent about how the election turned out. I never cease to be amazed at the poor choices of Presidential candidates that are presented to us Americans.

I like him, but I feel that too much is made of presidents. Everything in this country is controlled by special interest regardless of party in control.

I can't fathom why anyone would want Gore in office. That guy couldn't even win his home state. Think about that.

Any decent incumbent democrat candidate would have won in the last election easily.

No matter how anyone wants to spin the elcection contraversy, and say things like "bush isnt my president", Gore for all practical purposes got his ass kicked. Thats the truth.

I think the Democrats are in a bad spot for the next elction. Most likely Gore will be their guy. And thats a mistake, because he will lose again imo. Too much of the crossover vote just dosent like the guy.

A guy like john kerry or whoever would stand a much better chance.

I personally don't think that Gore will come on on top of the heap next time around, though I suspect he will throw his hat in the ring. I for one would not want Clinton back in office. He was a weak Commander in Chief.

George Bush is clearly the most moronic president to ever hit the white house.

But, Americans are screwed.. I reference that oracle of all knowledge, The Simpsons... Remember John Jackson and Jack Johnson? The republic and democrat presidential candidates who were actually the aliens?

Crowd member: "I'm going to vote for a 3rd party!"

Kotos the alien/Jack Johnson: "Go ahead, waste your vote! Hahahah!"

Anyway, GWB Jr - Worst. President. Ever.

Cheers,
Backov

I think George Bush Jr. is the greatest leader of the century.

First, have you ever noticed how he points his finger during his speeches (like shooting a gun). He's no pussy - USA and the rest of the world needs a real man to take care of the shit.

Second, he seems much more capable of defending the freedom of not only Americans, but fellow Europeans, too. We should raise military budget so we could raise our degree of freedom here in Europe, too. Less money to welfare, more to military

People are much more free in USA. Try go sleeping under a bridge here in Scandinavia, and some fucking social welfare mama comes and takes you to some fucking hospital.

I think Bush has done a good job so far.
All Clinton seemed to care about was that people like him.

Based on what? Reasons?

He may do some things that piss some people off, but at least he does something. And he does have a talented team behind him in Rumsfeld, Rice, Powell, Cheney.

All Clinton/Gore did was sit on their ass for 8 years and ride out an economy they weren't responsible for. They did nothing. They accomplished nothing.

Never known a more ignorant man ever to reach anyplace near "high office" anywhere on this planet.

I remember when he was "half elected" - within 10 days he made statements reversing his electorial promises.

He has played the role of "Commander-In-Chief" - just as well he found that "niche", else he would be even more of an embarassment without it than he is with it.

USA would be well- blessed to not have the GW's of this world anyplace near the Whitehouse.

Rice seems to be a well rounded person. I'd like to see her run for president after Bush's 2nd term. I bet that would eat the dems up. First black president, first woman president..... a republican. That would be great.

Sheesh!... Never heard a more "I wanna believe it" statement. This "team", I believe, are two paces away from just downright evil. Mr Powell, I have some respect for. Otherwise, the US is run by the Washington Cheerleader Club (names like Whitney, Britany etc). but we got Gee, Rummy, Condi, Ashley, each pouting at the world, sometimes creating hissy fits, issuing "warnings" to all as to why they gotta adore Gee and conform to his wishes *lol*

Tis the most ridiculous "politicians" ever - Yea, US needs some "actual" leadership. Forget "wars", - Gee has to adjust his panties and sort his hair and stop trying to divert attention from US problems get a grip - if he ain't got anyone to sort, for example, the economy - appoint someone! :-)

Jerry Falwell's alter boy. 9/11 saved his ass - for now. He was elected by one of the narrowest margins ever, and will lose the "massive support" he has over the next two years and carry on the family tradition ... one term and out.

I agree!.. The sooner he is out, the better off the US will be - and the rest of the world. US was attacked by assholes - he just milked that action for every dime it was worth and also established his "niche". He was/is just incapable - and it is easy to play the "C-in-C" role in comparison to actually resolving issues.

US is now no more than a "rogue state" with more weapons of mass distruction than anyone.

Kinda sums it up when ya get statements coming from Nelson Mandela ... "The US is the biggest threat to world peace..."

May Bush leave next Friday and return to Crawford and apply himself to looking after some cattle. Maybe then, the US can elect "some" actual leadership.

I can understand some views, and how they think the right being in charge is so bad for porn.

I would counter that with no leader on either side is for internet porn. They all want it to go away. None of them support it.

The only time Ive ever seen bush mention online porn was when he said it should be filtered in public places like libraries.

Where has all the obsenity busts been that were so feared? They havent happend.

Well, Mr. "Domestic Agenda" has discovered that there is still a big old nasty world out there that is going to require his attention. He has Ashole to worry about porn; additionally, he can load the courts with judges who will rule far more carefully on freedom of speech/press issues as it relates to the industry.

The choice was impossible this last election. I'm almost glad that I moved out of the country before the election and therefore didn't have to make the choice. I've always thought the 2 term limit was a good idea until this last election. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't in love with Clinton but things were stable with him. I also believe that although they didn't do that much that caused SWEEPING change during his terms in office, he WOULD take action if he were in Bush's place. I don't want nukes to fly around to be honest, but this situation does need settling down. I think Clinton would find some sort of reasonable resolution with a minimal amount of force.

Anyway, it comes down to this - If we could get Clinton back for another term (even if all he would do is keep the seat warm until someone better could be chosen) then I'd get on a plane and make the journey back just to vote him back in.

Your dead right. I agree 100%. Whenever there is a war going on, USA sends troops and wins the war and brings peace and freedom to the area. Sometimes USA takes the initiative and starts war, wins it, and secures the peace even before the war has even started.

Damn European free riding countries do not have enough military to maintain peace.

I wish we would have more military here in Finland so we could attack to Russia and bring peace to that area.

Too simplistic! Without the US, we would have more world peace than now - take an education and look at the abominable track record in many countries! There have been more than justifiable actions at times, but these were a rarity. The majority of the cockups were "to protect US interests" and "influence people to our way of thinking" - all bollocks! The "US interests" were oil!
This is not going to stop, since without this mass consupumtion or oil and resources, the country can't live to the current level. Only 5% of the world live in US, but the place comsumes 25% of world resources - tis another story and problem!

The reason Bush has never mentioned such a paultry subject of "internet porn" is the same reasons he never mentions, or avoids the ecomony, health or any other subject - they guy ain't got two braincells to rub together.

And no.. don't we too quick about "obscenity outbursts".. Ashcoft likes to talk - that will come when it suits!

Yep!.. Basically there was no choice. Hell, I don't know, but seems there is one massive flaw in the US system of "nominations" - they all depend on "whos Daddy has the money to finance a nomination", so ya end up with possibly totally unqualified candidates taking office when they don't even know (or can spell!) where other countries are.

The other side of the coin is you end up the "teams" with deeply vested interests - that clearly conflict with their postions and do not, in any way, have the interests of US Citizens or any other country at heart, apart from their own "back pockets" and those of their friends. Tis a joke sadly! That just would not exist in any other "western world" country.
