There is without a doubt more discrimination against minorities than whites. There's no debate about that. Thing is the government no longer discriminates against minorities and has started to discriminate against whites. Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do.

Whites are officially a minority race in California now.

I'm not looking for any preference at all. Let all of us work for what we get. The thing that pisses me off the most is when we are not given an even playing field. There should be no color taught in our school systems, and there is. Anybody who has been through college, and taken all the required humanity and ethnicity classes, knows that we are taught that if you are a white male, you are lower than scum because "YOU" have been surpressing minorities and women for hundreds of years, despite the fact that you may only be 20-30 years old.

I hate the fact that issues, having nothing to do with race or color, are constantly turned into racial issues. Sometimes when the black guy kills somebody, he should probably go to jail, as should the white guy who kills somebody. I thought it was pretty sad when a big part of our country threw a fucking party when OJ was acquitted.

It should never have been turned into a race issue, but of course it was.

People like to point this out not taking into account that when consideing the total population #'s white vs ethnic minorities...it's a disproportionate amount of minorities in the welfare system as well as the prison system.

You kid doesn't get free breakfast because you can afford to buy him breakfast. Aside from that he doesn't have to worry about getting killed going to school. When he goes home he can play the latest games on Xbox and the lights in his house never turn off because you can't pay the electric bill.

If you lived in the Hispanic side of town, I would hope your son would get a free breakfast regardless that he's white. I think the free breakfast is the communities way of trying to ensure that poor children are not malnourished. Who knows what thy're getting fed at home if they're getting fed at all. In college, one of my better drinkin' buddies happened to be a black dude. His dad owned a floor covering business. He made damn good money, lived in a really nice house. My friend drove a Mercedes for god sakes. He admitted to me that he was profitting approx. $6K in grants each semester, while his tuition at the J.C. was only coming in about $1500-$2000 per year. He was being paid to go to school!!

I was working as a waiter and paying my own way through school. So I asked him to show me how he qualified, etc. So he did. He gave me a stack of all the applications and necessary paperwork, and I was denied for every loan on the grounds that I made to much $$$ and that many of the grants were minority grants. So he was paid to not work and go to school, while I didn't qualify and was penalized because I was working my own way through? What the fuck? Even he said, joking of course, "Sorry Bro, just ain't the right color!"

Just one more example of many that I can use from personal experience!

Read some basic psychology literature and you'll discover that no race is more genetically predisposed to commit crimes than another. This simply means that factors like stereotypes and opportunity contribute to breeding criminals.

Remember after the republicans took congress in '94 and started passing the items in the "contract with america" all the democrats started whining about how the evil right wingers wanted to starve children by taking away their subsidized school lunch? Many lazy welfare motherfuckers get a lot of things free that I have to work my ass off for and it pisses me off. Some of the subsidized housing close to where I live is BETTER than what I live in. No one stated anything about predisposition to crime...just the facts as they are.

No race is genetically predisposed to commit crimes, but the socialization of the individuals and the environment that they live in may predispose them to a higher likely hood of crime. You can't tell me that there isn't a higher crime rate in the projects than in perfect little suburbia, regardless of color.

I can tell you of my experiences to. When I attended university all of my fellow white buddies and I had computers, laptops, stereos, nice clothes, cars. Our black roommate had a square 'ghetto blaster' with a tapedeck, not even cd, no computer - he had to write his essays in the computer lab across campus. He stayed in while we partied cause he wanted to save his money instead of spending it on alchohol. He was a model student, focussed and he excelled academically. Maybe he forgot to apply for all the grants you're talking about or maybe he was attending the wrong school.

I could go all day, here is another one for you.

I applied to physical therapy school about 8 years ago. I graduated at the top of my class. When I applied to Sac State, they wouldn't accept my application until I resubmitted it with the "optional, but recommended" sheet that was included with the packet. It asked for information pertaining to my parents income, my race, ethnicity, etc. etc. So their optional sheet wasn't optional at all. They got around the legality by saying that they needed all components of the original packet back, whether that sheet was filled out or not was up to me. So they said they just wanted it back, filled out or not? Whatever. I was an alternate for 2 years and never got in. I knew two of my classmates that got in, both minorities, with GPA's and work experience that were far less substantial than mine. I guess they just interviewed better?!

I thought about applying to Grambling and Bowling Green, both all black colleges(how is this even legal), but was told that both colleges couldn't exceed their 10% white student population, so all white applicants would only be accepted from within their own state.

I give up. All things happen for a reason. I am making more money in porn than I would have as a PT anyway. It just sucks because I can't tell Grandma what I do. :winkwink:
