Racism has nothing to do with it. It is called a waste of resources. The real racism is the logic that is used as why the US should be bi-lingual.

The reasoning is that "the mexicans/cubans/other spanish speaking people are to stupid to learn english. Therefore the americans must learn spanish. That is where the true racism lies but often goes over looked. its called "liberal racism" thinking that Americans are inherently smarter/better than those dirty spanish speaking people so we must learn their language to make it easier for them.

where is the sensitivity of american culture? Why should any other culture ie mexican/spanish speaking cultures come to America and expect people to learn their language? I would not move to france and expect everyone to speak english or for them to teach my child in english.

People that move to America are EQUALS to Americans. They are smart enough to learn English. It is easier for local governments to choose if they want two languages taught in their schools. There should not be a blanket law.
