Could very well be true. I don't know why so many see Castro's stepping down/demise as some big indication of a shining new age or something, the next guy in power could be just as controlling or far worse, at least as far as the US is concerned. Canadians have been heading to Cuba for vacations for decades now. They love us there.

what are you talking about dude. Cuba IS open to tourists. I myself have spent a lot of time there. It was the bets time of my life and am thinking of going back to spend even more. After 6 months in Cuba, my spirit and health improved like never before. I've never seen people who would be so happy and relaxed like Cubans. I have never been to a country that's this safe - with no gang activity or drug cartels in your backyard. Cuba has been a great country, and always welcoming of tourists. Plus you can enjoy your stay without obnoxious Americans. It's a heaven on Earth. If this ends, it's gonna be truly sad. I've been planning a trip with a long stay in Cuba. Hope I can make it before filthy Americans invade it.

LMAO to you loser... posting on american forum, sig whoring (yeah, thats all you do here) american affiliate program and still continues to whine...

All this means is that instead of being in the public eye calling the shots, he's gonna do it from behind a curtain. I doubt much will change there.

Then what would be the point of him retiring?

I'm thinking bd might be right on this one. There's been speculation that he's been dead for awhile now.

The "retirement" could just be for appearances' sake.

I like how they talk about about his "younger" brother he is 75yrs old. I wonder if cubans cigars will come down in price, once the brother is out and the embargo is lifted. Also why is cuba bad for being communist but china is not?

why do so many people insist on playing stupid when it comes to national interests and economics????

china - needed for trade
cuba - not needed for trade

blah blah blah... hypocrisy this... hypocrisy that.. welcome to life in every single country on planet earth and every civilization since the dawn of man.

His brother is already in place, has been in charge of the police and army forces for years, and all the key positions are filled with Castro's family members. Nothing's gonna change soon. And his brother is 76 years old. Viva la revolucion!
lol

shahab6 02-19-2008 10:45 PM

Isn't his brother taking over
