URGENT - trying to install my own wordpress theme - error

Quote:
Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host's database server is down.

* Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
* Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
* Are you sure that the database server is running?

If you're unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

ok so i made a databse in my servage account, and got this

PHP Code:
<?php

$connection
mysql_connect("mysql####.servage.net",

"acountname",

"password");
mysql_select_db("acountname"$connection);

?>
wp-config.php has this

PHP Code:
<?php
// ** MySQL settings ** //
define('DB_NAME'''); // The name of the database
define('DB_USER''');     // Your MySQL username
define('DB_PASSWORD'''); // ...and password
define('DB_HOST''localhost'); // 99% chance you won't need to change this value
define('DB_CHARSET''utf8');
define('DB_COLLATE''');

// You can have multiple installations in one database if you give each a unique prefix
$table_prefix 'wp_'; // Only numbers, letters, and underscores please!

// Change this to localize WordPress. A corresponding MO file for the
// chosen language must be installed to wp-content/languages.
// For example, install de.mo to wp-content/languages and set WPLANG to 'de'
// to enable German language support.
define ('WPLANG''');

/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

define('ABSPATH'dirname(__FILE__).'/');
require_once(
ABSPATH.'wp-settings.php');
?>

now what do i do? i put wtv info i thought i could put, and it gave me the error page uptop when i went to the instal page..

any info would be great

not sure how the servage works but with cpanel, for databases you also need to use your controlpanel username

username_dbusername
username_dbname

etc..

hit me up on icq if you want, will be glad to help!

Modify wp-config.php like so:
Code:
define('DB_NAME', 'accountname'); // The name of the database
define('DB_USER', 'accountname'); // Your MySQL username
define('DB_PASSWORD', 'password'); // ...and password
define('DB_HOST', 'mysql####.servage.net');    // 99% chance you won't need to change this value
You also, of course, need to make sure that mysql####.servage.net really is the host for the db, and that the account name and pass really do exist and have access to the host. (This could be the root of your problem.)
