Average bandwidth usage for an adult website or affiliate company?

Guys,

I'm trying to get an idea of how much bandwidth an adult website or affiliate company goes through on an average day.

I'm working on a story for XBIZ. I'm not looking to quote anyone, and I don't need or want to mention any companies by name. I'm just trying to get some perspective.

Right now I'm looking at 10-15 megabits per second on the low end; 60-70 mbps on the high end and about 20-30 mbps on the average.

Thanks in advance!

Bob, XBIZ

Based on what parameters? Your question is too broad based... an apples and oranges comparison.

There's a big difference between a basic adult site, say a blog on a virtual account, or even several on an entry level dedicated plan using sponsor hosted content and what the average affiliate program is going to be using daily.

I'm just an affiliate pushing traffic (non-tube) and I'm getting close to a TB.

Fair enough, XSV -- how about for a typical affiliate company with, say, 50 paysites? How much BW does one of those go through?

Number of sites doesn't matter, you could have 1000 sites and use less bandwidth than a guy with 1 site.

What matters is the amount of traffic, and the size of the files being served....there's no way to come up with an "average" really.

You might as well be asking what's the average paper usage for an accounting firm or the average CPU usage for a software company.
