Ok lets nip this in the bud.

Person + gun = easy to kill anything that moves.

Person + no gun = you can still kill someone, but not nearly as easily.

This argument of "guns dont kill people, people kill people" is a FALSE premise.

Sperm doesnt fertilize eggs, people fertilize eggs. Yep thats equally true. Whats your point. doy

I've only shot a gun a few times. My uncle let me shoot his .22 when i was 9. Was no big deal, really. Didn't shoot again until about 29 or so. Shot at a range twice since then. Never thought of owning a gun. Don't plan to ever own one.

Brother Bilo 02-14-2008 10:54 AM

Agreed he's a little young to be starting shooting and his dad should have eye protection on him, but teaching kids while they are young is the best way to make sure they are responsible with guns. Regardless of your beliefs on guns, the fact is that they are available in the US and if your kid doesn't know what to do if he's confronted by a friend with his parents gun, your kid needs to know what to do.

I'll argue until I die, taking something away from a kid and telling him he can't have it isn't the way to make sure he won't mess around with them. If anything it creates curiosity, which never turns out good. :2 cents:

You don't need to answer the above question as we have already figured out which you are.

Your choice. Who gives a fuck?

firecracker 02-14-2008 01:12 PM

wow, um I'd say dad needs to get a hobby...maybe building blocks or Tonka trucks to play with his son. More AGE appropriate maybe?

That you can be taught to fire a gun at a young age and not grow up murdering half your high school.

pornguy 02-14-2008 01:36 PM

Does not even seem to scare him.

Too young to learn but he will be able to say he fired a gun at one year old so he does have that going for him when he's older.

Here's a scenario for you.

They are all in the house dad is toying with his gun but needs to get up to go to washroom. Kid pics up the gun and remembers how fun it was with dad and how dad showed him to pull the trigger. Kids wants to show mom so points the gun and her a Bang...

Yup great thing to show a kid that young how to shoot.

JESUS !

I sure started something with this thread ....

Can I make a couple of personal points in respect to this thread and where it has gone in terms of what I meant with the post initially ....

1. I am NOT anti gun. I have owned guns and handguns (handguns for all intents and purposes illegal here) and used them, but there is a time and a place and a set of circumstances for everything. I do not own guns now because I have kids and because I cannot trust myself not to shoot some prick who really deserves it ;-) Enuf said.

2. I live in a country that has strict gun control - people cannot just go and take their kids shooting. In many ways, that is a shame IMHO. There is a LOT to be said for the understanding of weapons, how they work and what damage they can do from an early age - but not when you are a fucking toddler.

3. I AM anti idiot. The guy in the video is an idiot. The kid is WAYYYYY too young and there is so many things wrong with doing that, and THEN video taping that I just do not know where to start. A BB gun or being taught to shoot on a range or going shooting with your Dad when you are 6, 8, 12 or whatever is TOTALLY different to what this fuckstick is doing with what is obviously still a mere baby with no understanding whatsoever.

I posted this video link because this moron is the exact type of extreme behaviour that makes all responsible gun owners look like serial killers.

For fuck sake, Michael Jackson hangs a kid over a balcony or Steve Irwin takes his in a pen with a crocodile and they deservedly get shit canned for it.

What this cock head does in this video IMHO is nothing short of child abuse.

A bit young to be touching a firearm IMO :(

In Canada I was 14 when I did my firearm handling course for hunting purpose.

14 was then the minimum age to do such course.

DaddyHalbucks 02-15-2008 08:38 AM

Guns are a big part of American history. Honest citizens should not be punished for the actions of criminals. Moreover, armed citizens are necessary to counter criminals.

This is NOT the point of this post. CTB just points out a stupid fuck showing is toddler that's not old enough to speak how to shoot a gun.

"armed citizens are necessary to counter criminals"

Now that's fucking funny, we live on the same planet as you do and in Canada we don't think that way. Countering criminals is Law Enforcement Job, not mine.

severe 02-15-2008 08:59 AM

nothing wrong with a father teaching his son proper gun use at an early age.

:2 cents:

you see, you're just being a fucking idiot right here. you see this kid is getting a good education in firearm use at a young age. he's wearing earmuffs and target shooting. people who are raised with an understanding and respect for firearms and their proper use, are generally not the type of person who goes apeshit and unloads on an unsuspected crowd. if more people had this child's upbringing we'd live in a society with alot more respect for weapons..

if they were, you'd sure as fuck see a lot higher kill counts than you do.

You'd have to be a complete fucking retard to leave your gun sitting around with your kid. A COMPLETE FUCKING RETARD. You'd pretty much have to be a god damn crackhead to leave a handgun laying around with a toddler in the house. The majority of children who are killed in accidental gun accidents are mor ein the 7-12 area, and that is plenty old enough to have an understanding and respect for firearms instilled in you. When i was that age i would spend entire summer days by myself shooting off bricks of shells at gophers, or walking bush hunting for rabbits. my brother did the same, as did many many of my good friends at that age. if i have kids, i'm confident that they'll be level headed and educated enough in firearm use to do the same.
