Ummm, no. You are wrong. About 15% of US oil imports come from Canada. And that is not even counting the 8 million barrels per day the US produces. Once you factor in that about 10% of US oil comes from Canada.

Actually Colin, He's pretty much correct. Canada is America's #1 trade partner and that includes oil purchases, and we're I believe ranked 3rd in the world for largest oil-producing nations.

"Most" may have been an incorrect word, but certainly the largest portion of oil the US buys from any one nation is bought from Canada.

The viewpoint form Panama is that the wealthy are fleeing Venezuela and buying in Panama city. Chavez lost his last election effort to declare himself able to run for president and he is pissing off many latin american countries.

Castro is not overly popular here since as bad as the standard of living might be for many poor it is worse in Cuba. Chavez is spending his oil money faster than it can be pumped and inflation in Venezuela is awful.

Venezuela is country with incredible potential. They have problems but that is legacy of colonialism, nothing more. Poor people are result of decades of foreign capitalistic exploatation. Let those people choose their president and yes, Venezuela is more democratic then many other countries.(Chavez accepted results of referendum recently). It is true that Chavez is acting Crazy, but much less crazy then Bush, regarding my opinion. While Bush ideas killed more then million people just in Iraq (not to mention dozens of countries that suffered US foreign policy during last decade) , Hugo is helping poor people that no one want to see and don't care for them. Health, education, food....Venezuela is nice country, with nice climate, diamonds,woods, oil,sea...everything you will ever need. Only problem is that they are rich and US can't force them to do what US wants, like it is doing to dozens of countries worldwide.Because their wealth they are helping other countries and people, which US will never do because everything US do, is doing because of profit.Who think that is real democrat, should leave people from Venezuela to choose what they like in same way as people of venezuela should not interfere into any other elections .
