People in the UK who go online and illegally download music and films may have their internet access cut under plans the government is considering.

It is one of those stories that they go big on for a day in the news over here and then nothing further ever happens. How are they going to be checking the legality of everything that gets downloaded for starters?

Yeah, not going to even come close to happening and they know it. On top of anything else how legally can they protect the copyright of music and film, etc but not porn, for example? I would love to see the press coverage of somebody getting 'banned form the internet' (again never going to happen) for downloading stolen porn.

if you don't want me to download something, convince me to buy it.
Sorry but this kind of reply makes me angry.

If you don't want me to download you should convince me to buy?

If someone steals a car, the theif can't get away with saying "Well, if you didn't want me to steal your Porche 911, you should have convinced me to part with my money ... maybe a better advertising campaign or lower the cost a couple of dollars?"

What the fuck? No. Fucking stop stealing, you cunts.
