what's the surf scene like in socal/los angeles these days?

any good surfer knows not to give up the secret spots
I moved out here a few months ago, cruise PCH, there are some sweet spots, heading into the summer though not many big swells.
Dont surf near Venice Beach, that place is rank, though some small punchy waves, I usually hit Malibu or Zuma or make the drive down to Huntington... of course there are locals and you must follow the rules of the water, dont snake a wave from your bro's etc...
