Cybernet Expo 2000 was when Koroush and I started our love affair that has lasted almost a decade. He's still hot for me. :)

Didn't I sing along with you and Mark Tiarra during the show? Or was it just Mark?

I really wish I was more sober back then. :(

What else?

Totally!! What else...? Let's count the ways....

k, we'll start with:
1. Freehost's had top and bottom frames full of ads.
2. bukkake wasn't a popular, or even known, term

3. Click Thru Calvin was the shit, and the precursor to NATS, though with clicks.
4. High Society and Serge bought every click known to man
5. Most webmasters didn't like using this new thing called the exit console

I was definitely not singing. I remember running into you in the hallway and you were wearing one of those suits though. i was definitely not anywhere close to sober that whole show.

6. Bandwidth cost 5 bucks per gig.
7. AVS webmasters made alot of money
8. Everyone wanted to be an editor at DMOZ
9. My CJ was the biggest at one time. << Sorry had to put that in. :)
10. Colin created and finally put up http://buildinganempire.com

More importantly, Colin quoted me cause I'm brainy and shit. :)

Mike Fold is the man. I learned so much from him on traffic, and how to filter it. I used everything I learned from him in my CJ's, down to how I did my consoles.

Much love and props to Old Fold. :)

Triple True!

I was literally talking about how I used to live by Click Thru Calvin just yesterday.

Peaches 02-05-2008 02:54 PM

I learned from Fold the safest place to store your money :)

Those were the days. Can't believe so many of us are passing one decade now. Some of us were young when we first met ;-)

I don't think you get enough credit for being the man who taught everyone what it was to build your own traffic network, and that traffic leaks were money leaving your wallet.

People still don't get it. :)

I was 28 back when this madness started. :(

Peaches 02-05-2008 03:05 PM

I wonder how many people know the history Fold has with Playboy(tm) ;)

Colin....As much as one would think not, Fold took a piss while on the phone with everyone..it was almost like his signature. If I did not hear him piss I would have thought it was someone impersonating him!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!! :1orglaugh

I see some faces the look fimilar, never met any though

SEGuru 02-05-2008 04:15 PM

I recognize pretty much everyone in those pics.

Would ya believe that I spotted Snoops at a mainstream show. Can't remember what she was there for...

I know a lot of old-timers have migrated their way over to mainstream now, fun peeps, good times and too many cities. The last decade is somewhat of a blur with all the travel.

Great Pics.

Anthony, I thought you were into me and here all this time I find out it was you and Kourosh??? WTF?!?!?

Daron, that was the year you were big on Viagra for the search engines, and gave me a shitload to surprise the Missus with when I got home. She didn't walk or sit right for a week. :):):)

Where you been stranger? Call me sometime.

Fold is "One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die"

That was Mark and MattyD

I was sorta sitting in on bass, but Mark hadn't brought enough cords and needed his extra for his distortion pedal or something...

Yup same here. I learned everything I know from MikeFold & RichC. Remember the old Maxcash chat seminars? I used follow those religiously...espeically when they would have Mike Fold on!

Wow this thread brings back memories. I'll be hitting my 10 yr in the biz this July. I'm 32 now. Amazing how time flys.

It is a trip how different the net is now compared to then. I got started with AVS back when it easy. I'll never forget my first real month in the biz. I built 30 small avs sites (30 pics small sites no different than a free site). They earned $2400 that month. For a college kid making $500 a month I thought I hit the lottery. Those same 30 sites today would be lucky to earn 1 sale today.

Hey Amber :thumbsup
