Would you buy a hotdog from a vendor called, "Frank Wang's Franks"??????
I've always wanted to open up a hot dog vendor chain called, "Frank Wang's Franks" and I think it would be a HUGE success!
But, people seem to associate names like "Frank Wang" with Chinese guys trying to Americanize themselves by adopting a generic English first name, while holding on to their distinctly Chinese last name. People also seem to be turned off by Chinese hot dog vendors. Hot dogs are American! Chinese know rice and stir fry! What do you think? |

Location means a hell of a lot more than your damn carts name. Hell many will not even notice the name.
Though when you say vendor do you mean series of carts or sit down joints?

I was thinking of carts. I know exactly what you mean. I know that most people call all hot dog carts, "hot dog vendors" instead of whatever their particular hot dog business is called. It is like everyone selling dogs out of a cart is just called a "hot dog vendor." I just thought that if I had a great product with a funky wacky name, people would seek out "Frank Wang's Franks" but I could be very, very wrong. |

I dont care who is selling it as long as it tastes good. When I lived in Manhattan you would be hard pressed to find a italian working in a pizza place.
