Check out http://www.watchme.com/reference.aspx?c3119 for the best VOD payouts I've found. They pay 60%, while most others only pay 20%. Good luck.Comment

Don't forget to see how low you can go...
In regards to your percentage that is. 30..25..15% of the take could be YOURS for your content. With such a winning deal, would WOULDN'T wanna sign up?!!?!

You are right, most of the big VOD sites take way too huge a percentage, but it's all their traffic so what can you do? Just submit to all of them and hopefully combined between the biggest four or five popular VOD sites it works out to halfway decent money.
If you have your own traffic though, it's foolish to settle for less than everything minus c.c. processing- in other words 85% or more. I am looking into setting up my own VOD solution to sell my own videos & clips, with this http://phantomflicks.com software which looks pretty nifty and inexpensive too. I have only seen a very few sites using it, but it's way cheaper than the next available solution and probably real easy to install with no minimums involved.Comment

Yep. We are considering the same. You are right, most of the big VOD sites take way too huge a percentage, but it's all their traffic so what can you do? Just submit to all of them and hopefully combined between the biggest four or five popular VOD sites it works out to halfway decent money.

I have to get a few more sites launched, and finished to make the time. Plus get moved into a new house. But once this settle down over the next month or two. I am looking to build/integrate something much more profitable along the VOD/cams that is of value to our members/customers.
I simply can't choke down 15-30%.Comment

I just checked that site out, but the FAQ said something about paying GB 2 pence per minute watched of the studio's video, which is roughly equivalent to about 4 US cents per minute? Is this the 60% payout you are referring to or am I missing something here?Check out http://www.watchme.com/reference.aspx?c3119 for the best VOD payouts I've found. I was thinking about the same, since they really write the 2 GB pences per minute...check out OnlyBigMelons.com - CCBill based rock solid busty megasite - daily updated from 2008Comment

I use phantomflicks on Claudia-Marie.Com and it works great. I see it as picking up found money. It's still cool to do the VOD thing with AEBN, Hot Movies, Gamelink, etc. they all provide different sets of eyes. You are right, most of the big VOD sites take way too huge a percentage, but it's all their traffic so what can you do? I may have to look into Yappo Dollars for her stuff as well.-Robbie

Hi Jim, I just revisited the FAQ myself. They have changed some things since I first signed up ( about a year ago). The money used to be in american dollars, now it is calculated in pence. 2 pence on 5 pence per minute equals %40, but that is if the customer buys a "package" of minutes to get a better rate. Bastards! lol Originally it was a flat 6 cents per minute for the producer and the customer paid 10 cents/minute, that was an easy 60% calculation. Sorry if I wasted anyones time. My experience with them has been a positive one though, and they are about to roll out a mobile distribution aspect to the site too. The mobile stats already appear in the admin.
As Robbie said, we producers should be distributing our content through every VOD/clip site. New eyes, new customers, more branding. I give a shot at every distribution point I can find. It's all leveraging the income of your content. C4S is still the best money maker for us.
Thanks for the link too Robbie! I'll have to look into that for us also.Comment

I understand where you're coming from... but thinking that the VOD company takes a huge percentage and just takes all of the money is not a fair assessment. There are three parties that take a cut out of this... actually a lot more, but we will say three.
The producer. You. We'll say you get 25%, for an example.
The affiliate. Traffic. Without them, nobody makes money. They get 25%, for this example as well.
The backend. The VOD company. They get 50%... but do they really? Marketing (where do the affiliates come from), hosting, editing, programming, system administrators, etc., etc., etc.. The overhead is huge.
None of the parties can work without each other. It is a symbiotic relationship... if you will.Vacares - Web Hosting, Domains, O365, Security & More - Paxum and BTC Accepted

i dont see how you guys think 15-30% is so bad. i mean you only get 40% tops after paying affiliate and processing fees if you run your own program.
do you think it just might be a little easier to submit movies to a vod site as compared to running your own affiliate program and websites?
not to mention if you send the vod programs traffic to your own videos you can get paid double.I host with VacaresComment

Good old Tampa...I used to play the Agora Ballroom there back in the day. Bought a lot of gear at the old Thoroughbred Music there too. I think the last gig I did there was The Stadium Lounge. That place fucking rocked! But that was probably back in 1987 or so. Heh-heh. Drop me an email when you get a chance. robbie at soloslutcash.comDuuuuuude , I knew there was a reason I liked you.
