I can confirm that he doesn?t have permission to post our content and we have sent a DCMA to his host and contacted his billing.

Once inside, click on the UPDATES link.

This site contacted us asking permission to use full length movies in their members area for promotion. We did not agreed to it, but they did ask. Did they ask you as well?

No, they never asked us.

mn 02-02-2008 08:16 AM

hmmm

if i owed a program this would be 100% ok with me as long as there's sales and the watermark on the pics and movies.

i'm pretty sure most sponsors would ban the affiliate doing this though.

CuriousToyBoy 02-02-2008 08:18 AM

ONE update, and no more, ever I can understand, like a static upsell, and even then LOADS of site advertising all over it.

MORE than one update.

WRONG.

On the outside specifically marketing using YOUR updates.

WRONG.

That really sucks man and you're doing the right thing. I was trying to figure out if they would get permission from a site to use a clip, then load up their members area with content from the site.

no offence, but this sounds like a silly question.

When has things like this, EVER been acceptable?

We are 100% not ok with it and we pursue anyone who steals our content.

How did you find out that it was this affiliate that had your content stolen to use in their members area????

Well, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't on that boat by myself... get some second and third opinions. And, it was so blatant and right there that maybe other webmasters knew about it and were ok with it.

Content theft is content theft no matter what he does with it.

You know... I wouldn't mind as much if he wasn't advertising us on the free tour of his site. Now, if a potential member is looking at his tour, he thinks there are updates from Alysha and a few dozen others.

Alysha is sick now after that cruise, as I've read that many others are as well. We had a great time, though!

Ray@TastyDollars 02-02-2008 10:07 AM

Fuck, not good. They have our stuff up with no links to our site?

They contacted me last week asking me a for a full movie, I gave them a sample movie with a full picture set instead. They said they would list it in the members area as a friends upsale, for it to be an upsale there has to be a link god damit.

Love to hear what they have to say about this.

There is a link to our site in their members area. But, they are advertising our content in their free area as being part of their site with no link in the free area.

And... they never contacted me asking for permission. Perhaps they are contacting people now for recent updates. We have been in their members area since May 2007 (and again in August 2007) and never heard from them asking for permission.

notoldschool 02-02-2008 10:15 AM

This practice is the norm with amateur girls so nothing to worry about there. Nonone puts traffic leaks in their free section just because there is a pic showing you as an update...

Always ask permission boys and girls.

Hitting you up on ICQ

Ray@TastyDollars 02-02-2008 10:45 AM

Ok, i just joined the site and there is indeed a link back to our site where our content is listed. So we are good, they followed through what they said they would do, post our stuff and upsell/link back.

That was the original intention of my post, to ask if it was ok or standard procedure for affiliates to do that. Nearly everyone here says it's not, but I guess you're ok with them posting full length videos in their members area and advertising it in their free area?

We dont allow full movies, the movie they listed is one the I personally edited for this deal. Its basically 6 mins of intro and 3-4 mins of sex. I also gave them a full picture set of that same scene.

So yeah , its fine by me. Its great for upsells

We are actually working on setting up the same type trades with our members area(s) and anyone willing to provide a full picture set with a movie clip.

I did not however allow the full picture set to be posted outside of the members area, "free area".

Your upset, because you did not give them permission, Id be upset as well. I hope you 2 can work it out.

thx,
Ray

Yeah, that's rather jacked, and I wouldn't be too keen on doing business with someone who would think that's acceptable behavior. Thanks for the heads up, Adam - found the guy had signed up for one of our programs.

:thumbsup

V_RocKs 02-02-2008 01:22 PM

This is why it is NOT OK for THIS GUY to do THIS

A ccbill solo girl will have galleries or teaser (extra long videos but not FULL videos) for upsales... This is NORMAL behavior.

This guy took full length videos and also UPDATED with MORE videos so that he effectively padded HIS members area with OTHER SITES CONTENT!

The surfer doesn't NEED to go to your site anymore. He can stay HERE and get your content for free. He basically turned his single site into a site network comparable to nasty dollars or traffic cash gold. He did this with your content with the excuse that it was an upsell.

YES, 1:23 is a great ratio... But in 1 year having 2 to 3 upsells is complete bullshit. It shows that he is NOT selling your site, he is padding his own with your content. His surfers are so happy with this deal they feel no need to leave his NETWORK...

stever 02-02-2008 01:51 PM

bump for fucking this guy up
this is not acceptable at all

upsell ads should only be made using promo tools content
not your full members area content

who cares if he doesnt advertise your full members content on his tour
he is giving it for free to his members which is probably making him more on recurring memberships....this is even worse
ban him
report him
kill him
ruin him lol

stever 02-02-2008 01:52 PM

do you really need 3 signups in 1year at 1:23 ? lol
i think not
rape him

After Shock Media 02-02-2008 01:54 PM

And fuck I just use a few hosted movie gallery clips with a self generated thumbnail as an upsell. Yup the same hosted crap that every other affiliate has access to and I always do less than 1:6 with my sponsors from these sort of upsells.

Now on actual content exchanges with a solo girl I get about the same conversion but the traffic numbers are vastly greater. The above ones I may send each program up to 10 sales a month, yet with a content exchange I may end up sending double or tripple that. Well then again I have had some go ass up, we all know how every so often something just blows.

Now to think I could of been padding my site and not spending so damn much on updates.

A simple "kiss my ass" would suffice here, but I'll take the time to respond...

I wanted to check as a program owner what other program owners will allow and won't allow. Are YOU a program owner?

Paparazzi 02-02-2008 05:10 PM

Nice to see you take action Lady Sonia guys :thumbsup

Exactly... I see many a sponsor with less content used in the upsell making way more money... This guy is more or less creating a network pass at everyone else's expense.

notoldschool 02-02-2008 06:42 PM

Sorry to inform all you guys, but using a full movie and picture set is standard practice for these type of sites. Not linking to the content owners site would be stealing, or not having your own content in the members area, or maybe even using more than two videos in a short time would be iffy but you guys are way off on this one. Check with the industry leaders and you will see they ALL use full movie and picture set.

At the risk of asking this while you are in a bad mood.

If someone asked you for a pic set or vid to promote your site from within their members area, would you?

I am thinking a general banner or text link of your site rotating within their members area. plus a banner and or text link on the page the set and or vid is displayed.

Kind Regards,

Les
