compusa has some good deals as they go out of biz

I stopped by my compusa today.. picked up (3) quad processor AMD cpu for $173 each and (3) asus decked out motherboards (M3A32-MVP) for $173 each as well.

Using these boards to upgrade the t3report database servers from the current dual opterons. Finding out little bits of issues to deal with in getting linux to be happy.

The board is better suited running windows/vista.

Store sales are 20-40% off right now.. there are some good deals lurking around if you look.

Just looked up the same processor at newegg.com, they have it for $189.99

With newegg's "every day low prices" (along with other similar online sites), its not a surprise to see compusa close up.

Anytime i went, it was never busy, but the Best Buys around the corner was packed.

Frys is always awesome.

Best buy sometimes offers prices better or almost the same as newegg

They got bought out by TigerDirect. Some of the store will remain open and if you check the CompUsa website, it's "All New".

I've never had to worry about an AMD processor in the past, and the one time I had to RMA an Asus board it went very smoothly.
