Toronto's Solution to school crime - Segregated Schools!

So a grade 9 student gets shot and killed last year. Public outrage ensues.

The solution? Afro-centric schools with black teachers teaching afro-centric curriculum. Oh, but the school is open to anyone, cause we all know how keen indian, chinese and white parents are to immerse their child in an afro-centric curriculum.

Havent you Canadians learned anything from us down south. If your going to go shooting in school, it is all about the body count.

By the way they should also learn from our failures. Black on black crimes are very high as well. Shit they never were even reporting school violence outside of local news channels until it spilled out of the hood and poor little white boy who was picked on broke a brain cell and shot 10 people in whitebread America and then Oh shit we must get armed guards, metal detectors, and suspend kids for nail clippers.

The root of the issue is socio-economic cicumstance. The fact of the matter is that there is a high correlation between race of the population in depressed socio-economic areas. That is, minorities make up a greater percentage of the population in depressed areas. The solution lies in fixing these economic problems at the root and not turning into some upside down race issue.

Yet the idiot school board trustees seem to believe that violence at a school where the majority of the students are black happens because they are black, and not because it's a violent, poor neighbourhood. They think that black students are droppping out because they are black - not because they are afraid to leave their house for fear of getting shot or wondering if they are going to run into a gang.. or whether their mother can make the rent that month.

Sometimes I hate this friggin town.

Chinese kids go to chinese school on saturday morning, jewish kids go to jewish school on the weekend and the parents pay out of their own pocket.. it shouldn't be any different for anyone. I live up in Caledon and I think there are 3 token people of colour in my daughter's whole school. I would still like for her to learn about the *Canadian* experience over the euro-Canadian experience.

Its far more racist than letting each feel comfortable in their own enviorment with people like themselves. Everytime the federal goverment makes another rule like this they are just promoting more racism than if they left it alone.
