I agree that it's annoying, but there are plenty of other sites on the net that have sound and surfing with your speakers up that loud is just asking for trouble.

I remember being in a huge department shop in Tokyo, and for some reason surfing GFY on one of their demo PCs.
Hit the banner, and found the PC audio was hooked to all their stereos.

If you had a promo to take it down and the sheep played your extortion game (send me joins to stop tormenting you) then why is it still up?

It's great you had a give away of ipods and money but was that really for the webmasters or for you? Be honest now it was done to get more traffic and joins not out of kindness. It was not a donation it was a contest.

As for your last statement that is all to true in this business. People follow the money like aff to bit torrent and brazzers to stolen content tube sites and many other shady businesses. To bad more people don't focus on the basic principles of being good to your webmasters instead of just making money

IMHO that banner should be run free of charge for Duke Dollars. It has caused so many funny threads to pop up over time that its a classic in my mind.

I have been nailed by it several times at 3:30 in the morning only to have my wife come down to my office and curse me out for having my speakers turned on and waking her up.
