no doubt.... but at least this stuff was finally brought to light... and the only real solution that I can see is Globill at this point.

Amp, answers:

;)

1. Merchant accounts are a viable option. However, they are expensive, take time and resources to manage, if you ever lose it you CAN'T come back to an ISPS and you won't get the discounts large third-party processors can get with the sheer mass of transactions. There are more factors. See the PSW FAQ along with others. (If you want a merchant account, check with NetBilling, they're a great company). Just be aware you'll end up paying more than the $750 to get setup.

2. Basically, if visa disapproves something, you simply can't process that 'thing' through them. That's why we're offering options for clients (ePaymentPro: with visa, ePaymentLite: without visa). If you VIOLATE your agreements (try to slide something through) you can get personally fucked. ;)

3. Ideally, URLs would be approved/disapproved BEFORE the regulation deadline. Afterwards you're asking for trouble.

4. We've always had low rates and refuse to increase them. However, be aware that this does not make us more money. MORE time and resources are now required to maintain and foster our relationship with the card associations (so clients can continue to bill with the cards).

5. We use patent-pending technologies to verify consumer information. Our chargebacks have always been well under control. But the solution you list doesn't seem like a optimal solution to me either. ;)

6. We are site owners. We are adult webmasters. We started processing 1994 and incorporated PSW Billing Solutions because friends and associates were tired of the shit. Want to know why we're different. Read the YNot interview listed in my signature. ;)

You are right AMP, Globill or Netbilling. I brought this point up a month and a half ago but I got a steaming stream of piss shot my way from a third party processor.

It's still too early to tell 100% though.

I keep hearing this, but doesn't it now work the other way as well? If I'm blacklisted at the ISPS, I can't go get a merchant account either... so what's the difference?

agreed, but let's suppose I'm blasted for something that ISN'T necessarily completely my fault.... like an excessive chargeback ratio for instance.... I'm still just as screwed, and it's not like I have another option after that if they're going to nuke me personally and not the entity under which that particular site was under. Right? So anything else I'm doing outside of the site(s) in question also ends up taking the fall.

This is even MORE disturbing.... how many people in the game don't add more urls to their ops frequently? So anything we try to put into a program after the deadline is potentially going to bring down the entire operation. Because as was said, if even ONE url is shitcanned.... I'm done. THIS bothers me greatly. >We are totally at Visa's mercy, and have to HOPE they like what they see, or we're out of business.

not arguing with you, just still trying to get it all straight here.... thanks for the response....

Visa has had everyones Chargeback ratios at every IPSP for over 12 months. Visa has never forced us to Cancel any customer for Chargeback reasons. We have been told that as long as our entire book of business overall is in complaince then they will leave us alone. I am sure that if any client was to push 10% chargebacks for example Visa would not have to cancel their account. The CCbill would terminate it for them. That is just bad business to have one person causing so many CB.

Being TMF inside of a 3rd party company is not your real worry. Being TMF with your own account is when it is time to worry.

Excellent question. What's the answer to this?

Amp: Thanks for the disclaimer. I feel like I'm standing in the middle of a bar fight! haha.

1. You're right. It goes both ways. And it's your choice. But do your homework as there are advantages and disadvantages to both.

2. I -believe- it depends on your corporate structure. If you're a sole proprietor, you'll be blocked with the entity. If you an s-corp, etc. you've got the corporate veil (so you can do it... all.. over.. again). ;)

3. Yes, visa is throwing their weight around (they've got an awful lot to throw too). We are at their mercy. They are guarding all the doors.. they are holding all the keys. But there speed.. and their strength is still based in a system that's built on rules. For that reason, they can never be as strong or as fast as you can be. (ALRIGHT, enough of the matrix tangent!). However, right now they can only cut you off from VISA. You can still accept other payment methods. We believe online checks are on the way up (check back with us in a week, patent pending check technology on the way up).

Check out our scammy guy on the homepage (plus theres our take on everything up there too). Hope this helped! .. Dinner time and it's wing night at the steak house.

"Visa is everywhere you want to be... for everything else, there's MasterCard... and if they don't want it, we've got online checks.. and, if not that, bill shredders on the FRONT of your MACHINE!"

Hi Serge, Ron... it's been a while. :-)

Amputate asked probably the most intelligent set of questions i've seen so far on this segment of the "Visa Papers" and Ron has given the most honest corporate answer i've heard. As well, i've heard some really intelligent responses to this post.

As an old-tyme Russian Serge tell me what you think without the rhetoric. :-)
