actually I am completely fucked because I ran out of coffee in my house, I ran out of k-cups (similar to coffee pods) for my machine and I ran out of instant coffee too. This morning I actually had to drive to Starbucks, it was terrible, I put on sunglasses so no one can see me because I don't have energy to get ready and groom myself without coffee.

I PROMISED myself that after I got home I would get dressed and then go to the store to get some, but then I got carried away doing something online and before you know it, it was like MIDNIGHT! I get really carried away on the net and lose all thrack of time. And then I didn't feel like going to the store anymore because it's too late!!

So tomorrow I have to do the same thing again! So tomorrow I have to drive to Starbucks AGAIN without coffee in my system (which is very painful) in order to GET coffee. I have no one to blame!!!!! I did it to myself!!!!!!!!

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Quiting caffeine can be tough for sure. As long as you don't go crazy I think it's okay to have an occasional tea or coffee type of drink with friends. My opinion at least.

I also wear leather jackets and bring a paid whore or two.

Leather jackets are cool. I thought you were cool before, but that + leather jackets = cooler than normal cool = above normal cool.

I can't even DRIVE to Starbucks to buy coffee WITHOUT coffee in my system. I don't even feel like getting dressed and brushing my teeth and WALKING to the car to DRIVE 2 min to Starbucks. There is one 2 min away and yet it is SO painful to go through the process of getting dressed and driving there. I have to have it in my system first before I wash my face, before I brush my teeth, before I check stats and email. I feel so terrible without it. I feel like a dead person without it.

I used to feel the same way. Then I started to make the switch to green tea. Then after switching I started just drinking water or herbal tea in the morning. It makes you feel good. But when you hit the coffee again it's hard to stop again.

caffeine is a drug and definitely causes withdrawal symptoms. Just like alcohol and any other drug.

Yes, I am addicted, but when I tell people (like even people on gfy), they don't believe me and tell me they cannot comprehend someone being addicted to coffee and that it's "all in my head".

Coffee really is a drug and it's a known fact that people who become addicted to it have withdrawal symptoms once they quit.

I guess I feel sorry for drug addicts because I can sort of comprehend the pain of withdrawal. I am guessing that it's probably harder to get over drug addiction than caffeine addiction and caffeine addiction is REALLY bad, I mean when I don't have it I'm grouchy and feel dead!

Most know, but I don't drink at all. If you need help in trying to acheive this state, contact me, I would be happy to help. Oh and I never got laid more than when i first stopped drinking.

caffeine is given to kids every day and along with sugar are the two most ABUSED DRUGS in America.

The fact that caffeine is so marketed to kids should make people double take, but i see kids drinking affeine all day and say to myself: "damn, some drugs get a bad name but others they make millions off selling it directly to children" - Doctors are only claiming recently that caffeine is most likely causing all the ADD in schools, kids are burning out and falling from morning caffeine by lunch time.

most people who are addicted to caffeine claim they started when well under the legal drinking age.

Yep, I started drinking coffee around 16... studying at night and not getting enough sleep mainly. I grew up during the mid 90's though and back then there was no Starbucks.

Now Starbucks is considered really "cool" and "in style" so you KNOW all the kids are drinking it. I always see a lot of kids ordering frappucinos when I go in there, like really young ones too, that look like 12 or 13 or something...

I dont really drink. Once in a blue moon.

cherrylula 01-29-2008 09:51 AM

People who say they don't drink, but drink occasionally, drink. :1orglaugh

Brother Bilo 01-29-2008 09:54 AM

I don't drink like I used to, that's for sure. I've settled down lately, mostly because I actually like my gf, so I'd rather spend time with her.

Never thought it would happen to me, but I actually grew up a little bit. Shit!

TG Rebecca 01-29-2008 09:56 AM

i don't drink. i never had a drinking problem or anything, but when i was younger i got a lot of partying out of my system. now i'm content never drinking again. i've even tried to have a couple of drinks here and there and i don't even finish them. just don't have it in me anymore. :)

this is the truest statement of all

Fletch XXX 01-29-2008 10:02 AM

i always laugh at people who claim they dont drink, but "will have one on the weekend or at a party."

Attend a party where everyone is drinking and not have one, then come claim you dont drink.

Paco, of Large Cash. 01-29-2008 10:02 AM

I drink.

I have not drank to get drunk for close a decade.

I'll enjoy one, or maybe two, Kilkenny (beers), or a glasses of (#2 - 4) German Riesling (wine).

I do not touch the crack of alcohol (hard liquor)---10% is my max. It's too much of a diuretic, and makes me feel like shit.

No, several people, including myself, have indicated we don't partake at all.

*laughs along w/ Ycaza's statement* True enough, isn't it?!

trolls often reply with statements they know not to be true.

Its one of the most uncreative forms of trolling for replies.

I quit drinking alcohol 18 years ago.
just got tried of drinking, ended up not really enjoying the buzz from it or the hang overs.

BradM 01-29-2008 10:19 AM

Once a month I will go out to dinner and have a few beers. I rarely drink and never get "drunk". I also do not like hard alcohol. The taste really bothers me.

Damn, you even choose your wine carefully because of that 10% max, huh? I guess German Riesling was the best choise once they normally are not over 10%, isn't that right?

Very impressive thoughts bausch! :thumbsup

I was actually surprised when I read your post. That really sounds myself talking. :winkwink:

Not a drinker here at the age of 22... and no way should i engage to it. :)

I think people get into drinking because they either go clubbing or bars or because their friends drink and got them into it.

I never go clubbing (not even when I was younger) and I never go to bars and I don't have a lot of friends so there's no one to get me into/introduce me to drinking in the first place (not when I was younger either) and I don't really feel an urge to suddenly just start drinking out of the blue when I'm just sitting in front of my pc all day. What would be the point?? There's not really a motivation for me to drink and no reason to. Also I never had lots of friends who drank (because I am more of solitary person). I mean I'm not going to introduce MYSELF to drinking. Another drinker would need to do that.

I'm not a party person. I think drinking is a social thing and I don't socialize. I like to eat though. Eating is fun by yourself. But drinking? Not really.

Beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy.

Why would I deny myself that? :)

I don't drink cause I'm anti social and hate people and I don't party. A party for me is laying on the couch watching tv or surfing around on the internet. If I REALLY want to go wild I will go to the movies (in public around other people in a real theater with real life people).

We get it. You don't like people and you never leave your house.

Are you looking for sympathy or what? I mean you've posted 5x as many times in this thread as anyone else.

:Oh crap
Woooo, man!!! It's my choice.

I am not saying it is right or wrong for anybody else. I am merely saying the it's number I shoot for because anything higher (in %) tends to effect my athletic performance (ski mountaineering, 'cycling etc).

So what if I tend to like the sweeter drinks, which tend to be lower in alcohol. My personal preference, should not mean shit to anybody, other than me.

WoW! 01-29-2008 11:01 AM

I try to avoid places that do not serve beer.

I just want to make sure people get it! Just making sure!

I always have to say something 5x to get people to listen to me, I feel small and invisible!

I just want to stand on my roof and scream it out loud so the world can hear me!

LadyMischief 01-29-2008 11:14 AM

I do not drink alcohol anymore. I was diagnosed with a genetic bleeding disorder, and drinking alcohol is like taking bloodthinners. I even get touched or a handshake when I have a drink and I am bruised for weeks. I don't really find it a loss at all though, I was never a big drinker in the first place.

nikki99 01-29-2008 11:14 AM

almost 1 year here, lost about 4kilos since february 2007 :thumbsup

Rexk 01-29-2008 11:24 AM

I used to drink like a maniac..last fall...I decided to make some changes in my life and am now sober...I used to joke about rehab being for quitters..etc...but it isnt so funny when it happens to you..Its a big reason why you havnt seen me at shows lately..still recovering...dont need the peer pressure etc,,maybe someday I can again be in a social setting and not feel pressure to imbibe
