they vary to each clients needs...

my base hourly rate for css work is 15-20 dollars..

it all depends on a clients needs though... how big their project is, do they want it by the project or by the hour...

I talk to each client first and see what they need, how much they need, how fast they need it...

hey thanks, i try not to let people like hateman get to me. god knows hes only here to talk shit in a alternate persona...

its either someone like SoS or another webmaster here that wont speak in his own persona...

someone having fun or someone truly full of hate...

i know my skills arent the best... but I do know that my skills go beyond some here and especially my honesty...

my clients like me and my work...

Im a goofy fucker... but so are most of my clients and we meld well...

bottom line... the job gets done... i admit my limits and I scathe them with my current abilities daily...

here is something i have encountered in my time with wordpress themes...

some really hate flash...

I notice youre using the jabberwocky flash player... nice use of it on a blog...

its just a little note of past experience ... whether its the case here or not...

since i didnt see a fuck up on my side... perhaps you could show me how its fucked up ... or describe it atleast...

is it padding issues?

placement get all fucked up?

yes it's the http://www.jeroenwijering.com/ player

The problem is the whole page will hang for like 50 seconds and then finally load.

It only does this on one of my machines using IE7. I have 2 other machines using IE7 that don't experience this.

Also I made another thread earlier today and seems a few others are seeing the same thing. http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=803411

I'm stumped.

oki notice one thing, though i dont if its the issue...

you are embedding it I put my flash players on the page with javascript running through the swfobject.js

you should use the swfobject.js so people using IE dont have to dead click the movies to play...

ever since microsoft lost a lawsuit with i think, adobe... they have had this issue with dead clicking flash links...

again, i dont know if that is your loading issue but its something to think about implementing...

:2 cents:

IE6 can eat a bowl of shit... IE6 is the stubborn older brother getting a clue...

and thats that...

IE6 is a bitch, but we still need to make tabless work for this browser. It's a shame that so many people still use IE6, it's a turd, it hates most common CSS definitions, but it's still super popular.

candyflip 01-29-2008 02:14 PM

Good stuff Deej. Don't let the troll get the best of you.

yah i read about http://blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/

Deej, you have to delete your temp internet files in ie for the problem to show up, once you let the page hang for 1 minute it will finally load (takes me 1 minute) after that the problem goes away. That might be why you dont see the problem, or maybe your browser handles it fine.

i have 4 pcs, 3 handle it fine and 1 hangs like i explained. Ironically this happenes on my newest fastest machine which is an amd athlon 64 running xp and ie7

Yea im going to go ahead and say i have no clue why its doing that...

i would say possibly it is your computer, but you said other see the same issue... I dont know man...

that IS beyond me for now...

swfobject is worth looking into... i dont know if dead clicks deter surfing, but im sure some go hey... whats up with that and close out... small portion or not, its something lost...

best of luck to figuring out the selective lagging issue...

i know bud...

thus my clients receiving the soft spot attention towards IE6... :)

i hate it but i dont discard the need to pay attention to it when i design... for my clients...

I can obviously see that me giving my personal opinion has set some peoples view of my attention towards IE6 askew...

i didnt see you in vegas...

i know you'll be in PHX!!!

Nice stuff Deej :thumbsup

and for those turning down CSS galleries, you'd learn what you're talking about before you speak. They're not the future, they're the present. And for the ones saying TGPs won't accept them, I've submitted CSS galleries to The Hun, Tommy's Bookmarks, Worldsex, AL4A and many more and all got accepted. Maybe you'd learn the difference between Javascript and CSS, they're not the same by any mean :winkwink:
