Math question involving metric conversions. Help.

I have something that is 550 mm diameter and I need to know how many square feet that would be.

For the damn life me of me I can not seem to figure it out.
After giving answer would you please post your formula or the calculator you used to figure it out, thanks.

Square footage of a circle:

*

Find the center point of the circle.
*

Measure from that point to the edge of the circle to determine the radius.
*

Multiply the radius by itself.
*

Then multiply that number by PI (3.14) to find the area of your circle.

So 275 X 275 X 3.14 = 237,462.5 mm
which equals 2.556025 square feet

I used this to convert mm to feet http://www.ilpi.com/msds/ref/areaunits.html

That's a lot of work, and not going to be very accurate especially when you already know the diameter.

Thanks, for some reason what I was doing was wrong and I kept getting the same wrong answer. That cleared it up.

275*275*3.14=237462.5 square mm
to cpnvert to square feet
237462.5*1.07639104E-05=2.55602507336 square feet
