    finally gave star wars episode 1 a try...

    it's on tv now and i thought hey what the hell lets give it a try, although im definately not a star wars fan. And you read it right it's still on tv - I quit watching it, it was so bad. I sat through the whole first 20 minutes of the movie and it's probably one of the worst 20 minutes of film ive ever seen. It looks like a computer game, it's fucking childish and it has an all around fake, cheap feeling (about 99% cgi, looks extremely fucking cheap).
    Let's compare it to another space movie 'alien' - that's also a fantasy story but it feels very realistic. Star wars doesnt and never did.
    How can anyone like that star wars crap? Christ!

              keep in mind star wars is a big market for children....i saw the first 3 when i was a young kid, loved them then....the next three well, still enjoyed them but not near as much as when i was young

                      That movie sucked. But 'A New Hope', 'The Empire Strikes Back', and 'Return Of The Jedi' are all classics !

                              What does Alien made in 1979 have to do with Episode 1 made in 1999? If you're going to compare films at least make the contemporaries of each other.

                                  it was fucking pitiful. thats why episode 3 was way darker. lucas tried to get the kids buying action figures not just the nerds from 20-60 that watched the originals growing up. He fucked it, and it sucked horribly.

                                              The original movies were among the best movies ever made, but, man... the new movies sucked so bad. I just had a "Star Wars marathon" a couple of weeks ago since my girl had never seen any of them. I just couldn't believe how terrible all three of the new movies were. It reminded me why I only watched them in the theater once and then forgot about them. They were flat-out aweful. The writing was a joke, and the special effects were so obviously computer generated that it was more like watching a Star Wars video game instead of a Star Wars movie. The original Star Wars movies were great and a lot of it had to do with the brilliant puppetry and model work that was put into making them. The new movies were so heavily computer generated that it was just fucking ridiculous.

                                                  The old SW movies are great but those episodes they started making years later suck major ass. I can't watch them longer than 10 mins.
