drink some pickle juice straight out of the jar... it will help a little bit :)

Gargling with warm salt water has always helped ease the pain for me....or, try Cepacol throat drops. They are stronger than Halls and seem to numb the pain, temporarily mind you.

Salt water has been helping a bit i think..
all those throat drops are doing nothing i feel like, i have a good 10 different kinds lying around

Go out and pick yourself up some Zicam. I've used it a couple of times and it did seem to work.

I know it won't directly make your throat feel better, BUT it should shorten up your healing time.

If you have some type of bacteria (strep) only antibiotics will help within 48 hours

just had the same thing. I fel for you as it sucks big time. A week of antibiotics cleated it up but still have some coughing etc.

Stop smoking ;) and see your doctor

You've gotten a plain infection, and the only thing you can do is to wait till it's ofer. If you want to speed that up go to bed and try to get some sleep, and eat healthy.

UPDATE: Antibiotics and Steroids are helps im 90% better!

Just wanted to give a quick thanks to everyone who gave pointers, you guys rock

next time, try some 'Tantum' to hold you over until the antibiotics and steroids kick in... it's prescription only... normally for radiation therapy, but works for other sore throats...

I get killer sore throats - apple cider vinegar, etc, doesn't work... but tantum is awesome:
"Benzydamine liquid (Tantum) is used to relieve the pain and inflammation associated with a sore throat or with mouth sores caused by radiation therapy. The effects of this medication are felt almost immediately but are temporary."
