                                  I picked up a new HP Pavilion dv9000 yesterday.

                                  It's a great machine, but fuck me ..the SHIFT key is positioned in the wrong place and is far too small.

                                      Always hard to sell stuff that is broken or semi-broken unless you really want to cut short on it, I think you will have a better shot at selling it if you fix the screen first.

                                          agreed fix the screen if it just 200 bucks .. you'll at least get some money out of it .. but it is a dated comp ....
                                          I was on craigslist today looking around and they are everywhere similar or better for that price or lower with the screen

                                                              I tried 3 times to sell a broken labtop on ebay and each time it was bid up by some scam bidder to over $1000. I finally gave up. It seemed to me at the time that broken laptops were good items for these scammers to go after.
