Audi R8 V12 Diesel! Awesome ... [PIC]

Was just checking out Audi's website and see they have announced a V12 Diesel version of the R8.

The V12 TDI engine. with a displacement of six litres generates 500PS and 1,000 Nm of torque.

Apparently it will do around 26MPG!

Makes the standard R8 look a tad 'plain'

I love the R8 and you can't argue with the numbers but what would it be like driving a VTEC in reverse?
You keep it between 1000-4000rpm!

On that brand new piece of technology, I'd VERY much doubt it's anywhere below 5500-6000rpm or even higher...

Audi has some balls coming up with a diesel engine in a sportscar.
But hey, Stats don't lie. That engine beat the hell out of all Le Mans competitors for the last couple of years.

And 500 BHP / 1000 Nm of torque are simply mind blowing.

I rememeber talking to you about this car at the Sinners party at webmaster access Amsterdam. Go get one. NOW!

Oh and about the looks. Simply perfect. i got to drive one some time ago (4.2 V8) and It mmakes more heads turn that a Ferrari trust me.
