he was sitting right next to an extremely handsome fellow

Why don't you just throw up some trade secrets along with everything else & call it a day.

Rat bitch.

haha. man you are a really scary guy. Maybe I should enter the witness protection program.

xxxjay 01-15-2008 10:36 PM

SAC and Slav bought it. I was sitting right behind them at the auction.

I personally have been run ragged the past year trying to run one aging business and build a whole new one. Heh, only so much one man can do. So I'm in a better place now and I hope to see you in Costa to buy you a free beer!

Yeah it was a hell of a sale, good job! I'm sure the sell will help you concentrate better on future ventures. :pimp

Axzar 01-16-2008 02:48 AM

Congrats to Marc, Paul and Rick!

I rented office space from them in 2002. These guys changed my life forever!

Did you sell Joe Christ too?

Aza 01-16-2008 03:29 AM

Whats the current formula for selling up nowadays?
How do you value these things?

You guys simply couldn't afford to keep paying me what you were, when you could get someone else to do it for way less. That has been proven after you had to sell your network today for a measly 550k, after telling me a year ago that steakandcheese.com was worth 3 million itself.

Rick even emailed me and told me that the reason you guys were late with my severance checks is because you guys were having money problems.

Shall I go on?

I was shocked to see it go for what it did. Onward and upward though for the ex-CJ crew, and congrats to the new buyer! :)

tiger 01-16-2008 04:28 AM

Damn seems like a steal.

It makes sense that those properties would be on a decline as many tube based clip sites are springing up every day.

Congrats to Slavic as well for the purchase.

I have tremendous respect for all of these guys as they are tremendously successful and so I trust each side is satisfied with the deal.

Matt

gleem 01-16-2008 08:51 AM

hmm any ideas what Slav is going to do with the sites? Turn into a giant tube network?

BlackCrayon 01-16-2008 09:21 AM

Isn't CJ just a huge stolen content network? Why all the ass kissing?

DaddyHalbucks 01-16-2008 01:05 PM

Congrats on the sale, it makes sense to focus on Madison Avenue.

DaddyHalbucks 01-16-2008 01:09 PM

..and congrats to Slav, he is no dummy.

;)

Niktamer 01-16-2008 01:16 PM

Will the new Cj owner will start to trade traffic to get the sites on track .

I would be really interested .. Cj was my inspiration when i built my network and now i have about the same size they had 2 years ago.

Dollarmansteve 01-16-2008 02:05 PM

Ya Marc, you must be the dumbest business man ever :winkwink:

Taking your money off the table from a mature, slow growth business to

a) invest time and effort into a high growth, high-return business and
b) enjoy the fruits of alot of years of hard work.

Is just sooo dumb man, you should really listen to the gfy peanut gallery of internet millionaires.

You know, it's entrepreneurs like Marc who make this business go 'round, - constantly seeking new challenges and taking risks. The reality is, Marc's got $550k in the bank and ownership in a fresh, growing business... I think he's doing just fine. Most people here should learn from someone like Marc instead of making themselves look like amateurs with comments like "oh man I totally would have sold it 2 years ago for waaaay more"

Congrats Marc, we look forward to continue working with you and MadisonAvenue.com

kaktuz 01-16-2008 02:53 PM

congrats on the sale, to bad alot of people didnt know, i`m sure some would invest more....

pip 01-16-2008 04:16 PM

Kaktuz do you still rip off people?

BradM 01-16-2008 04:20 PM

Hit us up anytime Brad!

Odie 01-16-2008 04:47 PM

Jukes, you really are from good ole grape country! I totally am there w/ you! There are plenty of owners in the biz who'd love to get out and can't!

Congrats to Marc and Rick and the new owners!

crockett 01-16-2008 05:05 PM

wow, I would have thought that network would have sold for much more. Someone got a hell of a deal. Even if the traffic was in decline it could always be turned around with proper planning and commitment.

I bet whom ever bought it could easily flip it and double their money almost right away.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 01-16-2008 05:18 PM

I had a one-on-one dinner with Rick awhile back, and it was obvious that Madison Avenue was his new passion.

Rather than cry for Rick and his partners, I toast them and wish them continued success... :drinkup

slavdogg 01-16-2008 08:49 PM

I did not buy it

pip 01-16-2008 09:36 PM

Maybe Friend Finder bought the stolen content empire, seems right up their alley

WiredGuy 01-16-2008 10:05 PM

amazing seeing drama arise of who bought what. Slav didn't buy it, I'll let the buyer announce it himself, but I doubt he'd want to post it so soon.

pip, no idea who you are but I do know you're a little bitch. Show me the stolen content. UNLIKE all these "tube" sites people talking about being the reason why the network lost traffic (prolly right) we DIDN'T rip off content and post it. ALL the vid clips on our network are ADVERTISEMENTS that we send traffic out on via affiliate links or we sell them directly to the programs.
