The user who started this thread 'XPhotography' is not affiliated with our site.

I am the owner of XPhotography. I participate on this board, and many other boards, and do not spam.

This person has posted false information, as we are not currently running any sale. (We also do not have one planned at this time, and have not run one for some time.)

We do run an affiliate program, and of course we are glad if affiliates recommend us in proper ways, but we are not happy
with this person's actions.

I do not know the identity of this person at this time. He/she may or may not be an affiliate.

I have written to the admin of GFY to ask to have the user blocked.

If you ICQ'd this user, please keep in mind that he is not connected to our company, and possibly intends to harm our business or unfairly compete.

I can be contacted at [email protected] if needed.

Now that is weird.

Why would someone bother to spend time to do something slightly annoying in the name of a company, and not go over the top with it? I mean, is "XPhotography" trying to harm XPhotography or not? Because for the most part, he/she has been spamming and promoting them just like anyone would their own program.

Seems odd.

Yeah, I'm not sure, but it seems to me that he wants people to contact him with a list of stuff they wish to buy. And he will give them 50% off our list price, and then commit fraud on our site to obtain the pics? (Especially if he is a partner, thinking he will also get our 25% commission.) Or, more likely, he will never deliver any content once he gets paid, because people will think he is with us (a reputable company) and pre-pay? It's a very screwed up plan, and he spammed with false information.

As I said, I asked the admin to block this user.

I would think the thread was hit-botted too. I hope the admin can check the IP that was used to register, post, and possibly hit this thread to up the counts.

And he only recently registered.

And of course offering the 50% off would be to quickly attract many customers, and try to get them to buy a larger amount since they would think it's a great limited time deal. (We have never done a sale like that.)

BTW, lots of people (big players too) know me from way back in the YNOT days, so there is no question that I am the owner, am honest, and well... that I'm me. I am the only one who receives the [email protected] email. I had a 2 page great article in AVN Online focusing on XPhotography, etc.

If anyone did ICQ him : ( ... we would like to know what you were told. Did he perhaps give an email address or bank account or name, in asking you to pay?
