I have had an N95 for nearly a year.

AWESOME piece of equipment.

I get up to an HOUR of video and the camera quality is great.

;-)

that's cool, going to have to consider going for the n95 8gig now then instead of waiting for a real xp or vista phone. thanks for letting me know.

n95 is not windows mobile, it's symbian... if you are looking for windows mobile phone, i can recommend htc kaiser - i have it and love it, use it to ftp and edit files on my server daily

Stephen McTowelie 01-10-2008 05:28 AM

Had mine for just over a year now the black 8gb is only on 1 network in the UK so i cant change yet.
The phone is great battery life could be better but i bought a spare batt and its fine for a few days.
The gps is a bit disappointing but the camera is just so good no need to even own a compact camera the video on its very impressive too!

I was looking at the changing my phone but a year on nothing even comes close i like the iphone as much as anyone but to be honest its style over substance typical apple eh :winkwink:
So i ll be sticking with my N95 for the time being.
Took this pic with it a while back of a ship on the thames.

Anyone know how soon or if it is reality at all? I've not used windows mobile 6 or even 5 for that matter. How similar is it to real windows? can you like have ftp on it or even some html editor to make emergency changes to webpages.

Windows Mobile isn't really much like desktop Windows at all, apart from the fact that it has mini versions of IE and Outlook. The applications need to be designed and coded specifically for it, you cannot run standard 'doze apps. There are also some things that you cannot do on your WM device unless it's connected to a standard Windows desktop machine.

looks cool. though I am satisfied with my K800i cybershot phone :)

i took my n95 for a swim in the river, and it still works! amazingly built.

however, its always been slow menu navigation/sms etc.. even answering calls sometimes has lag.. i hate how they put faster and faster processors in phoens to do nice mp3 and stuff but still cant make a snappy menu system :( FUCKING DICKS

Manowar 01-10-2008 09:31 AM

it's definitely the hottest smartphone

lol well thats good to know it can stand a dunking :1orglaugh
I would say that once you update the firmware it runs a lot smoother so give that i try with the nokia updater if you've not done that already.

longdongsilver 01-10-2008 11:59 AM

yeah that HTC phone looks nice, i found out that there is an HTC shift it's actually running vista and also can be used as a phone. However that is quite large so they still need to reduce the size somewhat but i'm sure the full vista or xp phones of pocketable size must be just months away now. The HTC shift i would say is 2x the volume of the N95 from looking at it. If it was the size of the oqo2 it would be worth it i think.

Sometimes i'm out and i recall a small task i should have done on my pc and have to go all the way home to get it done. Would be cool to be able to just do it on the phone even though the small screen and controls would be a pain im sure.

Something like an oqo2 or even smaller and is a phone is the type of thing i mean.

Yeah there is a shitload of mobile ftp programs. Its alot like windows. You can pretty much do anything you want on it.

_Richard_ 01-10-2008 12:42 PM

that's a nice looking phone!
