    hypertension

I am told that I need to lower my blood pressure considerably.

I was just wondering if any of the GFYers here have/had a similar problem.

If so what is the best course of action to tackle this.

They wanted me to take pills but I want to try and lower it myself first.

Here is my game plan so far:

    -No Sodium
    -No Caffine
    -No Nicotine
    -More Exercise
    -More Vegatables

Does anybody have a success story?

I had the same problem last year. BP was really high for my age, etc. Immediately cut out the salt (sodium) from my diet, but that's not easy to do. They say you shouldn't take in more than like 1200mg a day or whatever, but that means not eating ANYTHING frozen or canned, and not using any seasonings on your food. Not as easy as it sounds.

Anyway, the key is lots of cardio every day. Your body is retaining water, so sweat it out. Drink lots of water (if you're retaining water, drinking more of it while reducing the sodium will actually make you pee it out more), and get out of the online porn biz, it is notorious for making people fat and lazy (jk).

If your doctor is giving you pills, ask him what kind. If they are just simple water pills, then take them. It will help you get rid of that excess water in your body that's causing hypertension. You'll start pissing like a racehorse the very next day.

    Ouch.

Also start to eat some oatmeal each day. I make mine the night before in a slow cooker.

I am still not on the whole salt thing but well the doctors say so.

Gorge yourself on veggies all day every day for like a week. Allow yourself a tiny bit of salt like an olive or two. Give yourself the basic allotment of protien that your body should take in. Then of course eat your oatmeal. I would be shocked if your cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure and more was not corrected.

i suffer from severe hypertension so the doc's put me onto tablets to reduce the blood pressure, they have worked well but i have to see a cardio specialist to find the root of the problem, exercise and change of diet etc can reduce this but at the end of the day you may have a heart problem, some people just have high blood pressure for unknown reasons and have to take tablets for ever.
It can also be hereditory so check with your parents to see if they have problem and let your doc know.
so far i know i have bundle branch block on the right side but can't find out more till i see the specialist.

caffine is the main thing you should reduce.

                    good luck
