US police have arrested a man who is believed to have cooked parts of his girlfriend's body and may have tried to eat them.
Officers found a human ear boiling in a pot and a piece of flesh impaled on a fork on the kitchen table at the home of Christopher Lee McCuin, 25, in Tyler, Texas.
Police said Jana Shearer, McCuin's 21-year-old girlfriend, had been taken by McCuin from her home on Friday night and killed. McCuin then allegedly drove to his estranged wife's home, where, police said, he stabbed his wife's partner, William Veasley, 42, who is now in intensive care.

McCuin is scheduled to be face a capital murder charge today. Officials said he was in solitary confinement in prison and did not have a lawyer.
County sheriff JB Smith said it was unclear whether McGuin had consumed any part of the woman's body. "He was either going to, had been or led us to think that he was doing it," Smith said.
McCuin was known to authorities, Smith said, and had "a history of violence" including assaulting his estranged wife, his girlfriend and his sister. His criminal record includes driving while intoxicated and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
When police arrived at the home he shared with his mother, McCuin jumped into his car and escaped.
"We did not know at the time that he had murdered anyone," Smith said. "We thought it was a disturbance or an assault."
Police said McCuin was not seen again until Saturday morning, when he arrived back at the house and called his mother into the garage.
After his mother and her boyfriend saw the remains of Shearer, they left the house and flagged down a police officer. Smith said McCuin called 911 after they left and told an emergency dispatcher he had killed Shearer and was boiling her body parts.
When sheriff deputies arrived, McCuin barricaded himself in the home for a short time before coming out. After he emerged, a tactical team entered and found Shearer's body and the grisly scene in the kitchen.
