HP 4550N. man, that thing puts out some beautiful graphics on photo paper or regular paper. plus it's laser, so you're not stuck with a throwaway printer. (inkjets are all throwaway printers and the ink is more expensive than toner, per page).

I really like my HP 940c. Was about $200 USD. Great photos and nice b/w

forgot the 4550, it's old. Get the new 4600, much better than the 4550 and much more faster, 17ppm

I just bought the new CANON S9000 (About $500)
It is awesome! I use it to publish a calendar with high quality pictures.

I have a Textronix Phaser 740. Although the quality is very good, the reliability is poor. I have heard good things about the HP 4500 as well.

nice. 4550 is good if you can get it cheaper, but yeah, sounds like the 4600 is where it is at!

Very good quality, and reasonable prices, the new cannon Multipass F30 and F50. The only difference is the f50 is also a fax. The quality is very very good. Both in the $300.00 range.
Both are also flat top scanner, printers copiers and the f50 is also a fax.
