The History of Marketing Campaigns (Its success and its failure)

Which marketing campaign do you find was the best. When I think great marketing I thinking, IBM, VW (Mr Robot), Visa Germany (Die Freiheit nehm ich mir)?

Greatest marketing campaign has to be that of Coca-Cola's.

You see a line of trucks i snow any time of year or white polar bears and you instantly know what product is being sold

To be a marketing pro like that would make me happy indeed

Lee

Ch-Ch-Ch-Chia? Yes I remember that one, and yea that was some good branding. I would have to agree. A catchy phrase.

I think it was a good example. I am not sure how good that campaign did but I could imagine it did will. Cheap product, Cheap commercials, and good marketing.

What are some good marketing campaigns by Microsoft. I think one of their best marketing, even though it was most likely not planned was the antitrust issue (or still is). I actually can not think of one Microsoft commercial right now.

No idea.

But they're sitting on 95% of the desktops and laptops in the world, so someone bought into their shit, and it wasn't from doing a search on google for "which operating system should I use on my computer".

you forgot santa clause.

bets marketing ever has to belong to the fake xenon headlights. people paid/pay up 10 $120 a pair for a bulb that costs a couple dollars to make. ever heard of jimmy540i ? He makes a killing in that. I used to resell and market for him, his 120$ bulbs cost me 10$ a pair to ship... talk about profit. look at the site though, its all in the marketing. who wouldn't want those bulbs?

Actually, to be honest I really like Microsoft products. Word is a great product; Power Point is also very good. Windows 2K was also great. I like MS because of their products not their marketing.

I like the new Audi Commercial, not sure if it is also being aired in the US or not. The one where the old man is in the old pickup truck and all of the sudden drives very fast and then slows down. You see him drive by the new Audi and they make it look like the drag of the car pulled the truck. Was pretty good.

I like some MS stuff, too. ;)

And I don't care what anyone says. ;) Bill Gates got his product in the right hands and his name in the right minds to make his company known and used by just about every single person who's used a computer (even just once). That to me is great marketing.

Even better if he doesn't have to spend $5M to make a superbowl commercial or pay celebs $2M/year to endorse his product.

puma AND adidas make more profit than nike every year, puma because nike spends its profits on advertising and paying people like mj crazy cash, adidas because it is bigger than nike in most countries that aren't the US

Yea, actually now that I think about it I think Microsoft?s marketing strength is in its PR and IR departments. They are always on CNN with new products, or on conventions introducing new products.
