What really annoys me is i can't see any numbers on my health and mana bar. I want to be able to compare to other's in the game and especially others i'm about to start a fight with.

garce 01-07-2008 02:29 AM

You can do that. Hit escape then go into your options. I can no longer check exactly where, but the option is there. Somewhere.

Well, since I cannot stop you - here's what you need: http://wow.curse.com/downloads/addons/

Check out the TitanPanel, or you can install the different addons individually. Also, check into 'macros', they will make your wasted time playing WoW less wasted.

:winkwink:

WOW is a bad game, it's so addictive, i almost screwed my real life because of that game.

fuckin shit every morning i was up and checking ingame auction to see if i sold some items and made some virtual gold or not.

Now i do the same with statsremote :) and i know that i can spend those real dollars instead of earning virtual gold! wich can bring me.. a new armor? lol

I'm almost 1 year free from the game. It was fun to play, but that game is too much time-consuming

Elemental shaman rocks at pvp if you can learn how to play. Arena wise it is not the favorite class at 2vs2, it can do good enough at 3vs3, it definitely can shine at any 5vs5) except the times when a rogue appears behind of you and keep you stunned 90% of the time. With nice gear elemental shamans can do pretty good at pve too. After ~200 played days I am still getting fun from it.

If you want infinite solo fun (farming, levelling, etc) and exceptional pve performance as damage dealer go for warlock.

Ok, logging in the game now :winkwink:

The best part about being a shammy is how each spec can radically change the play style of your class. You can respec to be caster, melee fighter or a healer. Most other classes dont have the drastic difference that the 3 specs of shaman provide. Resto shaman are ridiculously good at pvp, theres really not much that can stand up to you.

I dont play the game anymore though... anyone wanna make an offer on my 70 shammy, priest and rogue?:)

Fletch XXX 01-07-2008 07:32 AM

Fletch XXX 01-07-2008 07:53 AM

allow me, WOW is no more addictive than Super Mario for NES was back in the 80's or any other game. Anyone who says it is, is silly.

The thing about Warcraft (and many other MMORPGs - Im old school Ultima Online player) is the longevity of your charachter. You guys know damn well, if you could have upgraded your fireballs in Mario to a super flame ball with extra damage you would have, and it would've rocked. In these games your charachter lives for much longer, the stuff you collect along the way adds up - unlike in mario you collected nothing.

I stopped playing console games way back with the Playstation 1 - it always bored me to play a game by myself, so I started playing MMORPGs a long time ago and the power of the internet and cable lines make this more enjoyable than ever.

Now as far as addiction, if you can't do your work during the day, knock it all out and then log on and PVP maybe you need to uninstall it. But this game is no more addictive than ANY OTHER that has come before it, or any to come. It's looking forward to the next level up, and getting the best gear that keeps you playing, there is nothing wrong it that.

Dollar for dollar you guys more for your money playing online games than console crap. Consoles cost $300 now, thats a year of an online game subscription. As i said, i stopped buying consoles with the PS1 - and have only played Online games and PC games since. consoles are for kids.

I only PVP, i dont care about quests or anything. I log on and jump into Battlegrounds or Arena etc, my goal is only PVP gear and to kill as many people as I can a day. Dunegon instances are fun as you get higher level, and i do them often to xp/lvl up a char. But you HAVE to know when to stop and do your work.

Having this game, is no different than any other game... hell, I played Ultima way more than WOW ever. Talk about addicting, WOW is nowhere near as addicting as other MMORPGs, its just the kids started playing this one...

Dirty F 01-07-2008 07:56 AM

So far i still prefer Lord of the Rings though. But i leveled up there till the end and finally, thank god, got bored.

With prefer i mean, it looks way better than WOW and they basically took WOW's interface and made it better :)

...

Warcraft Players cannot "finish" the game, about 95% of people who play (8 million) will never see the hardest areas in the game. Its meant to take months or years to enjoy, not 7-10 days. And the core player is not a 13 year old like you suspect.

This is absolutely nothing like Mario for NES.

Anyone who actually thinks its "just another game" has no idea what Blizzard has built here. This is an enormous virtual world, with 8 million real people playing with you online. And their retention on rebills is fucking ridiculous.

Furthest from Mario, Asteroids and Zaxxon you could get.

Why do you assume that one wants or is expected to finish a game in 7 - 10 days? No one expects to "finish" a MMORPG, there is no finishing it,.. the world doesnt revolve around YOU like in Zelda.

Ive had multiple Ultima Online accounts for over 4 years now, and you think WOW is like the most addicting cult-like game on the planet? geraldo mustve done a special on it or something...

MMORPGs SHOULD take YEARS to "beat" considering there is NO BEATING an MMORPG - you are paying for entertainment through content, the content being the game content. Expansions new dungeons etc, are all no different than porn site subscriptions. If you want access to the content, then you keep your subscription open. Wow, what a concept HUH?? ... some guys have porn site memberships for YEARS to the SAME SITE. Personally i think those guys have problems... ;)

you must not understand what a MMORPG is, and the philosophy behind it?

People like me cant stand console games because I want to fight other players, NOT crappy Artificial Intelligence mobs that take no skill to kill... playing OTHER players takes skill. Killing Koompas dont...

Are you new to MMORPGS? You act like MMORPGs are new or something... Dungeons and Dragons was more addictive than any of this crap.

Quote:

You assume too much, considering I am 31 - and I dont play with kids - you are incorrect to assume that I think the core player is 13 years old. I play with real life family members too... again this makes me think you assume the core member is 13. I, know too well the money gaming industry spends trying to change the "gamer" image from a fat nerdy kid, to a college guy-dad type. That image is dead, gaming is a billion-dollar industry. Fat kids dont make that wheel turn... adults do.

Fact is, the end-game content is probably too difficult to do with 13 year olds because it takes too much communication between players. 13 year olds only know how to "OMGrs HAZZorz" speak and there are millions of adults who play WOW, just as we played Starcraft and Diablo. Geez, Diablo was more addictive than WOW lol

No, it is JUST A GAME - and because you feel it is some cult you want others to believe it is. It is JUST A GAME, no more no less.

OMG a successful video game - its a cult! Lets burn the witch!!!!

you guys make me laugh. who remembers pausing super mario and waking up and starting right where you left off? Talk about addicted!!! I never did that with wow or any other MMORPG LOL

These are the same guys who cant stop drinking coffee, smoking cigs, and playing halo 3.

big L oh l

you want to play, pay. Your subscriptions keeps the servers up - keeps the hard-working dev team at work on new content and it works smooth when you log on. THAT is what you are paying for. CONTENT, ENTERTAINMENT.

Either log off or seek help.

Christianx 01-07-2008 10:19 AM

you would be surprised on how many porn people play WOW. I have been playing religiously since the game came out. I have a 70 druid and 70 warrior. you will love it when you get to 70. the grind getting there isnt too bad and has been made easier by the latest patch. good luck to you!

Get MetaHud or IceHud. It'll pop up a configurable hud on your screen for you Health/Mana at all times including the mob you're fighting.

WoW can be very addictive. It really depends on the person. I've been playing since Beta :helpme

However, I currently only play about 3 days a week for about 3hrs for raiding. It leaves me plenty of time to still have a life, and spend time with the broad.

I do have friends however, who practically live in the game. If you want to find a group of people that do live in the game, search for the guild Nihilum.

Any input?

druid is easiest class to get into groups, mages are only dps/cc whereas druids can tank/heal/dps

feral druids never have to stop grinding to drink/eat either .. the only time you use mana would be to heal

ONLY if you are specced right and have a corresponding gear set.

Easiest class to get into groups = Tank warrior.

The best thing that can happen if you install this game is that you suck at it. Getting to 70 and having a clue, and getting into a raiding guild will eat more of your life away then a marriage.

70 Priest Retired 140 DAYS play time. (yes fucking days)
70 Paladin Full Raiding Tank, 130 DAYS play time. active on a high ranking US realm,
70 Mage, Fire, 30-40 days, dont play much

I have several other toons in the high 60s as well on both factions. Alot of the "played" time i was alt tabbed out attempting to work my sites. So its not totally accurate..(lol)

Im tellin ya, dont install it. There is no medicine for this shit.
