What's the tune you heard recently and that sticks with you lately?

I played some Quiet Riot as a reminder of Kevin Dubrow, haven't really heard them in ages, but I uncovered some super pubescent appeal that works with me..

"The Joker" "Stay With me tonight" "Bang Your Head" - so 80's metal and no art really, but it rocks and has something exciting in it.. I am feeling like 17 again when hearing that

"E eats everything" by They Might Be Giants
my 3 yr old listens to it at least 10 times a day, and it sticks in my mind.

A hardly has an appetite and pokes at food too long
and B can barely bother because all the food is wrong
C likes only candy and chocolate by the box
D is just disinterested in anything you've got

But E eats everything
yeah E eats everything
E eats everything
yeah E eats everything

so toss it on a plastic plate or stick it with a fork
serve it on a shovel or serve it on a spork

yeah E eats everything
yeah E eats everything

F is far too fussy and only eats with fancy wine
G eats only gourmet but never can decide
H burns food so horrible
all I tastes is smoke
J just likes drinking juice
and K drinks only soda

but E eats everything
yeah E eats everything

he's eating in a moving car
he's eating upside down
he's eating on a space ship
he's eating off the ground

L and M and N and P won't start till O arrives
Q and R and S and T are wearing clothes much too tight
U and V and W are worn out from this song
and X and Y just will not share and will not get along

but E eats everything
yeah E eats everything

but look out now here it comes that final letter Z
now Z's not like the other letters Z's only eating Es

yeah Z eats Es
yeah Z eats Es
Z eats Es
yeah Z eats Es

That "new shoes" song has stuck in my mind for a while now for some reason.

It's catchy.

Ah, by Paolo Nutini ... had to look it up. :D

You're more blessed than possesed !

He is my all time favourite hard n heavy singer. Seen him with Dio in 2005 and with Black Sabbath (Heaven and Hell) this summer - man I would even say he sang at the level of about 95pct. of his most famous Rainbow / Sabbath / early Dio era.

I hardly ever heard more intense live singer performance!

I guess I am actually lucky that I am able to filter out radio and TV play (don't own a TV and always wear headphones in public).

Otherwise it's always the silliest superdumb tune that sticks with you for hours and days...

I went and saw Saliva and Puddle of Mudd a few weeks back, now I have "basement" from Puddle of Mudd stuck in my head. At least it's a good song. The last time I got a song stuck in my head like this it was some Manilow tune I heard at a club.

sad as it may seem, the most addictive song thats been stuck in my head is that 'every day normal guy' video on youtube. i even went as far as to rip the flash video, convert it wmv, seperate the soundtrack from the video, and convert it to an mp3 so i could listen to it on my ipod....

I still think the silliest song I heard in ages is this "umbrella" or hows that called, I heard it actually broke a record in topping the charts or something.

This one for me

"Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town"

You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town

He's making a list,
Checking it twice;
Gonna find out who's naughty or nice.
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake

With little tin horns and little toy drums
Rooty toot toots and rummy tum tums
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake
Goodness sake

You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming
Santa Claus is coming
Santa Claus is coming to town

(Coming to town)
Santa's a busy man he has no time to play
He's got millions of stockings to fill on Christmas day
(Santa Claus is coming to town)
(Coming to town)
(Santa Claus is coming to town)
(Coming to town)

V1: I've been awake for a while now
you've got me feelin like a child now
cause every time I see your bubbly face
I get the tinglies in a silly place

C: It starts in my toes
and I crinkle my nose
where ever it goes I always know
that you make me smile
please stay for a while now
just take your time
where ever you go

V2: The rain is fallin on my window pane
but we are hidin in a safer place
under covers stayin safe (*) and warm
you give me feelins that I adore

C: It starts in my toes
make me crinkle my nose
where ever it goes
i always know
that you make me smile
please stay for a while now
just take your time
where ever you go

B: What am I gonna say
when you make me feel this way
I just........mmmmmm

C: It starts in my toes
make me crinkle my nose
where ever it goes
i always know
that you make me smile
please stay for a while now
just take your time
where ever you go

V3: I've been asleep for a while now
You tucked me in just like a child now
Cause every time you hold me in your arms
I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth

C: It starts in my soul
And I lose all control
When you kiss my nose
The feelin shows
Cause you make me smile
Baby just take your time now
Holdin me tight

Where ever, where ever, where ever you go
Where ever, where ever, where ever you go
Where ever you go, I'll always know
Cause you make me smile here, just for a while

Oh Damn - "Bad Habits" from Thin Lizzy is killing me for a while, from the last of their albums "Thunder And Lightning" (1983)

Even it's very much the 80's sound, the combination of Sykes and Lynott makes for some seriously great stuff!
