I finished Call of Duty 4 on PS3 in 6 hours. It was an amazing game but too short. One of my favs tho, but other than that FIFA collection are great games, I liked Max Payne for PC.

Good game, nowhere near great... very short, and quite frankly seen the ending coming so i was very dissappointed.. They try a twist by killing off key actors lol... Wouldnt work in TV and shouldnt be in a video game... Hero's MUST live..

I would have to answer MAME as in mame.net and i play a lot of the old school arcade games, from the original roms...

Slightly off topic... Does anyone know of / heard of a 'quake 2' emulater / flash version, that can be played online???

boneless 01-03-2008 06:25 AM

Unreal tournament was the game for me (and it still is every now and then)

Right now i just finished COD4 which literally rocked hardcore...great graphics and great playabillity, anyone that hasnt played it yet should definately dl the demo and give it a go, cause that game is really owning all the other ones in graphics and speed on slower and older system...

quicksand 01-03-2008 06:37 AM

Starcraft, of course!
I still play it 10 years after its release. No other RTS game has come close to it in all these years. Can't wait for part 2!

Doom & Doom 2 are a close second

tranza 01-03-2008 06:51 AM

Civilization, Elifoot 98, Fifa and NHL 97.

Interesting so many mentioned Starcraft and noone mentioned the original Warcraft I / Warcraft II from Blizzard - those were actually the only two real time strategy games that ever seriously amused me and Starcraft was just a good clone to me.

Doom is probably the all time most revolutional game (although I guess Wolfenstein was the first 3 D)

Considering how much I still can contribute here I assume I had to be a serious gamer as I was 15 - 17 years old - then booze, mates, working out, girls and parties turned to be more appealing then hecking by the PC...

Yeah, great story, great music - great atmosphere..

Good old times before the vector graphics took over and many started to push new 3D engines instead of thinking about that the gamer ain't dumb.

They were both great and innovative games, but Starcraft was far from a "clone" as it introduced several new RTS concepts not seen before its time.

Three teams... each with entirely different modes of combat but equally balanced. Nothing like that existed before. Pre-Starcraft, it was all pretty much cookie-cutter from team to team with different unit skins or slight variations on the stats.

Not to mention the User editor and ability to install different Map Settings into games (allowing for games such as Starcraft Risk, Chess, WW2 scenario maps, etc) was unlike anything before.

I love Warcraft 2 just as much as any oldschool gamer - maybe more... but Starcraft is a whole lot more than its clone - and a game I still occasionally play today. :2 cents:

I'll check that out if I will ever play again, one thing is for sure - old games will never get old.

A couple of weeks ago I got some Duke 3D advanced levels, I was kind of sick over the weekend and pushed play in the evening...

... I was killing it till 6 AM :winkwink:

StuBradley 01-04-2008 03:20 PM

The original Metal Gear for the NES. I played that from begining to end at least a dozen times...lol.

The Tiger Woods series by far gets the most playtime now but an occasional Civ III saga breaks out every now and then.
