don't listen to the naysayers. the only reason marriages don't work is if they are not meant to be or one or both of the people aren't putting any work into it. true, it does take work, but it is the most rewarding work i've ever done.

Yeah, it'll be the first marriage for both of us... like I said, essentially both in our 30's, together 3 years now, we've lived together for a year and a half, and have at least that long to go before we officially tie the knot.

If it wasn't for kids, who knows... but we're thinking kids are in our future, and - in my perspective, at least - a marriage seems the best environment to bring a child up in (not that others can't work).
