Thanks...

Yeah i will.

I just want my domain back now. That guy had no authority to do so and neither have i obviously.

evildick 12-31-2007 01:56 PM

Silliness. There is nothing illegal about linking to a news story, is there?

Here was one of the original articles.

http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/dowbrig...n-south-china/

Hell, even snopes has a page about it, including a pic.

I have seen this happen before. Someone reports a domain to godaddy for spamming or something and they get suspended.

Godaddy sucks balls.Their interface makes my eyes bleed.

I´m slowly transferring all my domains to moniker.

Godaddy did the same thing to WEGCash.com a few years ago. It was suspended for a couple of days.

That is a pretty stupid claim. GoDaddyt did not do it on a whim, and you can be sure that no matter who the registrar that paperwork involved would have forced any registrar to do the same thing.

This shit is sick, dude. It's fucking scary. What happened to freedom of press and fair use of information? You can't even post shit in your blog anymore without getting suspended? Fucking censorship sucks ass!

Why would you still use GoDaddy? You post on this board enough to have seen the bad posts about them in the past. They are notorious for fucking over adult sites in this manor.

I think it will cost you a few hundred to regain control of the domain. Take this as a lesson learned and move any of your other domains away from them. Go to Moniker.

Im starting to think that the people behind this can take anything down they want.

Of course they could. GoDaddy is #1 for a reason.

That's why you should use a registrar whom does biz in Adult. With Moniker if you have a problem like this, you have a much better chance of getting it resolved quickly. Simply because you can hit up their rep on ICQ.

I have... Godaddy sucks that way and it's way too easy to have someone's domain suspended like that by making a BS report.

I used godaddy because of the positive posts on GFY from a few years ago. :Oh crap

Dirty F 12-31-2007 02:26 PM

Godaddy is very responsive and quick with replying to my mails. They are actually gonna call people now to see if they can restore the domain.

i <3 Godaddy!

I know you love GoDaddy to death, but he probably would have gotten a warning or something from the people at moniker before they just changed his shit. It's not like the registrar has anything to do with whats being hosted on the site, unless you're hosting the site with the same company, which he wasn't.

Have you read the thread?

the content guy 12-31-2007 02:37 PM

OMFG! That thread link was the sickest fucking thing I have seen since starting in this biz 14 years ago. WTF? Eating 7 month old fetuses? What the fucking fuck fuck? I just lost my appetite for the next 3 fucking days. Good start for a 2008 fast diet.

Moniker's policy as stated to me is that if a complaint comes in, they forward it to the domain owner, and that's the end of their responsibility, and that's the only action that they take, unless they are served a court order compelling them to do otherwise.

I'm just saying... He might have been better off with moniker, might not. I would feel safer with them though.

Dirty F 12-31-2007 02:51 PM

Dear Franck,

The domain has been reactivated, removing it in the morning is acceptable. Please let us know when the content has been removed.
We appreciate your cooperation regarding this situation.

Thank You,

Spam and Abuse Department
GoDaddy.com

Ps: We heard you're well hung!

evildick 12-31-2007 02:54 PM

Silly that they'd even bother to make you remove it. But at least they aren't being pricks about it.

Haha, can't be bothered to look for that 2" erect one, but it came to mind :D

Did they seriously mess you up like that just because of a post about possible plase in asia where they could be cooking fetuses? Who reported you? What wqasa their excuse to report you? What can a guy do to make sure this doesn't happen to him?

Dirty F 12-31-2007 02:56 PM

Man thats some of the best customer service ive had in ages!

Thanks Godaddy! I'm happy i am with them when this happened and not somewhere else.

Sounds to me like Chris will say whatever it takes to get people to move their sites there.

I found it funny that when talking to one of their reps at As Tech about their upcoming domain auction, the first step they wanted me to take was to move all my domains to them to make the transfer easier.

haha - right.

Cheap Domains

d-null 12-31-2007 03:01 PM

I read somewhere that those aren't human fetuses

they are monkey fetuses

which is still pretty nasty

kektex 12-31-2007 03:16 PM

So let me get this straight: they blocked your domain because you posted some fake baby-eating story to your blog?

Mission Impossible star Cruise vows to eat placenta after birth
By Patrick Mulchrone 18/04/2006

TOM Cruise yesterday revealed his latest bizarre mission..to eat his new baby's placenta.

Cruise vowed he would tuck in straight after girlfriend Katie Holmes gives birth, saying he thought it would be "very nutritious".

The Mission Impossible star, 43, said: "I'm gonna eat the placenta. I thought that would be good. Very nutritious. I'm gonna eat the cord and the placenta right there." It is the latest in a series of increasingly strange outbursts from Cruise in the run-up to the birth.
