I tried to work my way up to curling 75 lbs too fast.... I've had it since around April. I think it's gradually healing(takes forever to heal and some rest), but the flare ups when I type too much suck... |
It'll would work if you use it. It provides resistance, so you'lld surely get resistance training. Using weights is really no different. The trick is to actually use them and eat healthy in the process. If simply burning fat is your main concern you're better off with a treadmill and walking 1 - 1.5 hrs/day at 4mph (while maintaining a proper diet).

For those who have/use bowflex. Did you ever upgrade to the 400 lbs worth of weights, or you are still at the 200?
|
My ballsack is far too large. Everytime I try to get on a bench, my ballsack hangs off to the side and usually touches the ground. It is very distracting.

don't know about that. you vary resistance be adding or subtracting your tension bows. so you can fine tune the resistance as you get stronger. you'll find a bunch of bowflex machines on ebay in perfect condition selling for 50% or less of retail. do a zip code search for proximity and go pick one up, otherwise shipping will be expensive. good luck. |

using it for 15 mins a day will make your body (from the neck down) look you are about 25 years old. (and i am 57 with a 22 yr old wife --- not sure if i could do that without proper diet and exercise) slim, and toned, swimmer's build. (and for sex a slim body makes your dick look bigger, a bulky muscular body makes your dick look smaller) of course you do have to be religious about using it (and eat a careful diet). |

They gave me that offer when I made the purchase. So I am guessing most people never bought more, which is why they are saying they can't 'bulk up' on bowflex. :2 cents: |

I do not need to bulk up. Was just asking. I am 6', and wide as a mack truck in the shoulders. So even I was my target weight, I would still look like a freight train. |
I love my bowflex. I'm seeing excellant results, but I work out with it 6 days a week and do cardio 7 days a week. I also have a nice, structured diet with absolutely no junk food. I eat 6 times a day.
But dont just take my word for it... ask Zoe :thumbsup |
To stop myself from thinking a purchase will make me work out, I have a simple philosophy.
Jail cell workout. Floor, wall, chair/bed/couch. If you can get to the point where these things aren't sufficient and you've been doing it for at least 3-6 months steady and then decide you need something more, then you'll be in a position to actually use a piece of equipment. If you can't motivate yourself to get on the floor and use it, who are you kidding? Guys come home from jail ripped on a regular basis, and they mostly used - the floor. |

However, under this line of thinking... Until you can hunt your own food, and cook by the fire. Don't bother buying a stove. :winkwink: No offense. Just kidding. :1orglaugh |
God I hate January. There's going to be a whole bunch of new assholes in the gym, fat as fuck and without a clue as to what they should actually do. Getting in the way, interupting super and triple sets and generally pissing me off.
Fuck beef creatures and their new years resolutions. |
