Thats how it goes in real life. In boxing its easy for the best fighter to win the majority of the time because there is only a few types of strikes. In MMA there are many ways to win. Rampage far from destroyed liddell. Caught with a quick punch to the jaw yes, destroyed...no. What Liddell did the Wandy is closer to being considered destroyed.No doubt one may quote history to support any cause, as the devil quotes scripture.
