    1-800-GOOG-411 ** Are you still paying for information?

    For those of you that use your cell phone to call 411 and get charged upwards of $1.49 every time you do there is 1-800-GOOG-411!

    Call, tell them where you are, tell them the name of the business or its category (such as pizza) and you instantly get connected. If you have a cell phone you can ask for a text or a map (if it has Internet connectability).

    Call as often as you like, it is FREE!

                      So if 80% Nextel subscribers are aged 25 to 50 and they prefer Pizza Hut and if 80% of Verizon subscribers are aged 18 to 35 and they prefer Dominos...

                      I can sell that kind of information...

                      Or I can order the list by bids instead of alphabetically...

                      Suddenly Pizza Hut comes before Dominos and Anchovies Pizzaria.

                                  There was another service that played ads while you waited to be connected to the "operator." I can't remember that number though.

                                      Wait, your saying this toll free number will instantly connect you to the lookup you did (like call them) or just provide their phone number. If its the former, that's a great way to make free phone calls.

I'm like, un, "operator services in the past was traditionally populated mostly by woman" - and stil is. We had like two hundred people working our office, and only six of them were men.

                                                                          I have bypassed the dial 9 to make local calls lately. Though it is business numbers only. Gets you past hospital as well as hotel blocks.

                                                                                                  correct me if im wrong, but i dont think this service is under the umbrella of google.org. There are incentives (research or financial) for them to let people use this service.

                                                                                                  they get data for your input, you get the requested information. But they gain alot more from this transaction than you do.

                                                                                                  If you believe in free lunches, I have MANY surveys for you to fill out. Doesnt COST you anything tangible ;)
                                                                                                  if you need more than 3 clicks to get to a join page, something is wrong ;)
