I respect you, in a way that some of the posters on this thread don't seem to.
This looks like two rash assumptions, to me.
One is that Jaysin, posting the way he did, assumed he would ever be in the position to do such a thing and responded with what is the usual response. If you found an untraceable Brinks bag laying on the street, and it had 100k in it, what would you do?
The answer may seem obvious until it actually happens. What if you KNOW it is not traceable in any way? Some people would puzzle over it, worry about it, and then either do the right thing or not.
I wouldn't hesitate. I would turn it over to authorities immediately. But presuming that someone else, based on that question, would act the same makes no sense at all.
I hope most people would do the right thing. I believe they would.
When speaking in hypotheticals, I feel it is wrong to condemn someone for an off-the-cuff remark. We all say things that, on second thought, we would not do.
This looks like one of them.
Admittedly, the statement, taken on its own, sure looks like a condemnation. The reality of being IN that situation with epass didn't HAPPEN, and therefore cannot be judged in that respect.
Now, if Jaysin is accused of stealing 8k or 5k or whatever in a few weeks/months, from someone's epass, I will have to agree with you.
Until then, it is just hypothetical.
Like this: If you won a lotto ticket that had 65 million dollars value, but were 5 days from the end of a very ugly divorce, would you hide it or share the wealth with the woman/man you hated so much?
