Jeffrey Berman, 60, pleaded not guilty to indecent assault and battery, and open and gross lewdness during an arraignment in Boston Municipal Court.

MBTA Police were tipped off to his identity thanks to a quick-thinking teen and her cell phone camera. The 16-year-old was riding a Green Line trolley last week when she noticed the same man she believed had groped her on a train last winter.

The teen snapped a photo and e-mailed it to a school administrator, who gave it to police. Prosecutors allege Berman also assaulted at least two other teenage girls earlier this year.

He turned himself in to police last Friday after the photo appeared on TV and in newspapers.

Bail was set at $10,000.

That was the point. There have been many crime threads with "guess the race" in the title and they were black people, so this one, featuring an old white guy was meant to show that it's not always an easy guess.
