Never smoked pot, never done any drugs. I have no problem with people doing drugs in the privacy of their own homes, but when they do it in public, and brag about it, I find it absurd.

i went through it all young, was the new kid in town and got adopted by the stoners before anybody else cuz i looked the part even though i really hadn't been a stoner where i had moved from. By the time I was halfway through college I realized being stoned or hung over was a shitty way to go through life. Plus I needed to start making a living and you can't be hung over and do a good job for anybody.

I can see how being an adult webmaster can really drag out
adolescence/college years. If you don't have to get up in the morning early, it doesn't matter if you shave or even brush your teeth etc - you really can be a drunk and a stoner and still be successful financially. Sorta like a musician or artists lifestyle.

Coke is a whole other thing. You wanna destroy your life do it.
Nobody walks away from a coke habit without damage, usually major damage. Nobody I know anyway.

Oh yeah.. used to smoke the w33d for quite a few years.. even had one of those potpourri meltingpots just to take away the stink.. THEN ONE DAY i asked myself what the hell do i need this crap for.. Well. I've smoked it. I suspect *most* people under thirty with access have tried it.

It makes me not... lazy per se... but in a different frame of reference. A funny one. Wakes me up to freedom and possibility; unsticks the squareness of my linear existence; frees me from being stuck on one level, gets rid of my obessive/compulsive clench toothed doggedness. Which is great if you've been working your ass off for weeks and would like to get out of that lock and load mentality- which could be a healthy thing for some people.

If I am working hard on something, and am totally determined, I can continue to do it mildly drunk or stoned. There are even times when I can't get outside the box, but an altered state breaks right through it.

I've known a lot of very smart, focused people who used marijuana regularly, and did not fail to function extremely well.
Regular use would make me unbearably fuzzy. I haven't smoked it in 2 years. Hmm....

There are a lot of psychoactive herbs out there though... seems like very few people tune into this. any state your mind can be in can also be triggered externally with a little natural molecular aping.

I used to have a smoke just before bed and always made sure I had one rolled and ready for first thing in the morning. Now I can't even touch the stuff, just makes me want to sleep and eat!!!
