I agree with you! It can often save the hassle of having to return something you don't really want for something you REALLY WANT!

Gift Certificate to a place where the recipient loves to buy stuff!

Its really hard pick a gift for someone who already has everything, but the most important is the spirit of Christmas.

Agreed! Sometimes people just want to know you were thinking about them and cared enough to choose a gift from the heart.

Other people just want some serious loot!

I think it is way easier to buy a gift for someone who HAS everything
because you dont have to worry if they actually need it or not, and you can just buy something fun

This holds true for me as well but there are a few things I want but won't buy for myself. I'm either too busy or too lazy to go get them. Those are the items I hope to get for Christmas.

Such as:

Candies from my childhood. Old time stuff you can't find easily.
http://www.candywarehouse.com/

Clothes. I rarely buy clothes for myself. If I don't get a good haul of clothes on Christmas I'm bummed because it means I'll have to shop for myself. Not fancy clothing either, comfortable stuff like sweats, hoodies, t-shirts.

Office supplies/Calender. A big ass calender you can write on. Most of us work in an office and we need a new one every year. Pens seem to grow legs so they're always a good gift.

Staples credit. I can't get out of the store without spending at least $100.

Home Depot credit. I own a house, nuff said.

Sex. I'll even settle for a blowjob.

Time. Time with family and friends away from the biz.

I agree with you!

Although it might SEEM easier to buy for someone who needs a lot, you can still go wrong by buying something they don't need or don't particularly want.

People who need a lot and get a bad gift are usually affected more than those who don't need anything and get a bad gift. Imagine hoping for a new coat or something and getting a giant Winnie the Pooh table top puzzle.

Have you ever given a gift that really flopped?

I remember giving jeans to someone and she pretended to like them, but I never saw them again. I took a risk and lost. They were a new fashion at the time, but I don't think the fashion caught on.
