since computers and fitness obviously seem to be on opposite ends of the spectrum... how many of you do both on a regular basis, like lifting 4 to 6 days a week ??

Chesire, yeah thats really good for cutting.
I lift 5 times a week... 4 day routine. Chest / abs - bi's / tri's - shoulders / traps / abs - and back. I've lifted for 2 years now and i love it. gives me something to look forward to. It's rather addicting seeing the physical changes, i have pics of what i used to look like and what i look like now. i have friends who are on steroids and they tell me if you take it properly you won't encounter any of the negative side effects that you hear about. i dunno, interesting stuff. the idea is very appealing though cause like i said, seeing the change is addicting and you only want more!

lol.. well seriously, it kinda evens out my day.. i'm on the computer sitting here the whole time, and then the hour / hour n' a half i spend in the gym kinda equals things outOriginally posted by TaDoW
computers and fitness do not go well together, they are a dangerous mix.
seriously, all you need is 45 mins of either intense cardio or lifting, depending on whatever your physical goals are. and it brings a sense of satisfaction + higher self esteem. but thats jus me.

Someone said computers and exercise don't mix. Erm, tell that to the guy who cracked the enigma code (an act which decisively won the wwII naval conflict for the allies), invented half of theoretical computer science, whilst being a top long distance runner. he beat the american long distance silver medalist in a non-olympic marathon, the same year he won. that alan turing seemed to mix it up pretty well.
I'd have to argue that it's sitting on ones ass, in a chair, unnaturally immobile, for long periods of time, possibly with refined sugar nearby, that leads to the flabby-flab.
Even sitting on an exercise ball instead of a chair does wonders for ya. Bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce. It's considerably more fun than just sitting there. giant exercise balls only cost about $30. they look silly as fuck, and that just ads to the fun, seeing the people around you all uncomfortable like while you're gleefully bouncing away with your headphones.
another idea: Elevate your desk to a height where you code/read/type/draw/whatever standing up. Teachers and professional speakers stand up all day, and it doesn't hurt their concentration.
The serious physical detriment of computing is nonawareness of physical being. any habit or circumstance you preimpose will stick; including good ones.
to answer the question, i live right near a bike trail, so i run every other day, and bike on the days i don't feel like running.
i also do pushups and leglifts... going back to kung fu any day now.the sound of one hand googlewhackingComment

I can't put on weight or get rid of my six-pack no matter what I try 138lbs is the heaviest I have ever weighed (and that took 5 months of 6 beers a night and 5 meals a day) but my day job entails carrying test equipment up and down stairs and ladders for hours a day...
What happened to the abtronics testing that some of you guys were meant to be tialling for the board?Comment

well... perhaps you won't be able to put on fat, but the more protien you consume the more of a chance you'll gain weight. personally i have a protien pack and i put in 1 pack + milk + 2 eggs + 4 scoops of peanut butter.. it comes out to around 80 grams of protien... which is excellent and it doesn't taste bad at all. take 2 of those a day along with 5 meals a day, you'll see a big difference. especially if your able to incorperate some lifting other than what you do each day. i'm not a fitness trainer, but as far as i know, thats what'll do it.Originally posted by Kat

I do 140 situps a day followed by 60 reps of lifting. I do half in the morning and half at night.<font color="#FFFFFF" size="2" face="Verdana">This thread will self-destruct in 5 seconds.</font><font color="#FFFFFF" face="Verdana"><br>

i really doubt GH releasers do anything. I can have "cheap" access to pure HGH. (cheap is 100x the price of GH releasers). Maybe in the future i'll give it a try. I'm still worrying about the side-effects although most of scientists say that are near none.Comment

Soul, Ill happily send you one bottle if you'd like to try. Unlike other supplements (creatine, andro, shakes) you can actually feel the product working. Muscle recovery is much faster, and because the product contains homeopathic hgh, it pretty much enters the blood stream instantly for faster uptake. let me know by email if you'd like some and Ill be sure we'll get some out to you.Originally posted by Soul_Rebel

thanks puremeds, i joined your program and i just discovered i had joined some also 5-6 months ago. I have been thinking of promoting such products in the past, but so far i never did it. I'll send the first few clients and i'll let you know for a test drive :-)
My concern about GH stimulators are the insane gap price they have from pure HGH. I'm sure you know that a "treatment" with somatotropin, humatrope etc costs like buying a car. Of course this doesnt mean the releasers won't work..it's just like i have connected to offers like unlimited hosting with $10 :-)Comment

Yeah, I hope to exercise myself right out of my niche someday too. Swimming 3 times a week, weight lifting and cardio machines twice a week.Originally posted by SexyMarie
I am a fitness freak... 4 times a week to the gym (aerobic and weights) and some swimming.
I love to eat so I workout as much as I can... so my site will not fall in the bbw niche one day
